Hi there,

As a part owner in cask 1 I am happy for it to be bottled in the new year as suggested.
The original bottling was a stonker (still being enjoyed although supplies are getting low) so the refill being more subtle will be a nice contrast.

In terms of another refill I am happy to keep this going as long as we can although I do think it might need a period of freshening otherwise we are going to have to leave it down for a long time to get any flavour in it.

Regards

Tim

The bottling forms went to Iain yesterday mid-afternoon and I'm hoping he will submit them before tomorrow lunchtime (Thursday 22nd Dec) as that's when WB close for Christmas. I've asked, on the forms, for the casks to be kept for refilling, but as they won't be emptied until at least March 2023 (probably) we still have time to decide whether to actually refill, whether to refresh, or what else to do.

Excellent. Thanks for getting this sorted out. It slipped my mind to answer but I am happy to go with whatever is decided.

I was back home for the first time since Corona just before Christmas, and was pleased to find that I still have a good selection of the other casks hidden away.

Good news folks (well those of you in Casks 1, 2 and 3)!

Whilst not yet cleared with WhiskyBroker, so not a definite plan - is anyone up for a group visit to see how Martin has changed the site (and expanded the storage) since we were last all up there? I've no idea on timelines but I'm guessing WB will want our bottles removed reasonably sharpish, so it will either be a visit in short order (end of March or sometime in April at a guess but I'd not push it any later) or lots of parcels being delivered. I'm sure Iain will soon be messaging us to let us know our dues to him and how many bottles etc to expect.

As all 3 casks are now bottled (and the casks are thus empty), we need to decide what we are going to do with them, whether we are going to refill (if Martin has the spirit - peated/unpeated/50-50 mix etc - and storage space) or whether we think they need 'refreshing' somehow (I'm not sure if this is a service that Martin offers) or something else....

Spookily timed Phil,

Whilst I'm not in cask 1,2,3 (I think), I have a pallet of whisky hopefully being delivered today from WB. Two octaves filled 2014 both with Ben Nevis.

Hi Craig wavey

No, sadly you are not in Casks 1, 2 and 3. It will be interesting to know your taste thoughts once yours arrives - clearly matured in different barrels, but at least the base spirit is the same.

Fantastic !
I am absolutely up for a visit to see how the site has changed - will Martin have time to show us around like last time do you think ?
It seems to be a much busier/larger operation nowadays.
Huge thanks to Iain and Phil !

Good news. Let us know options for collection. Sadly I suspect posting again will work out easiest but who knows.

Calling all cask 1-3 owners shout

If you've moved or changed your address in the last 4 years, or even if you have not moved, please will you confirm with Iain your address and contact details. If you don't have his email address, please PM me and I'll pass it on. I'm not sure (from his previous messages on here about changing account names etc) if he has access to any PMs he might receive. He is in the final stages of confirming costs with WB and we will soon be hoping to get these bottles shipped out.

As there has not been a great deal of interest in a visit (yes I appreciate a few have said they might be up for it), I think it best to work on the premise of having bottles posted out unless you want to make the journey yourself to collect them (it's what I did last time).

If you can post on this thread to let me know you've forwarded them on to Iain, it will help me to help him chase down those who have not replied. Cheers!
