Lastest cask offering comes from one of my favourite whiskies.
Highland Park - Available only to Innercircle members.
Two choices - Sherry seasoned Firkin (40Litres) or Sherry seasoned Quarter Cask (150Litres)
Reading between the lines it sounds like they're filling them with 12 year old malt (58%) for a final finish in the cask.
Prices - delivered to a single UK address are : Are you sitting down ?
Firkin £5,250 Quarter Cask £15,500
They estimate 50 bottles out of a Firkin (£105 per bottle) or 150 bottles from a Quarter Cask (£103 per bottle).
These costs are for the spirit and the bottles only, not the cask.
HP know how to charge!Highland Park - Available only to Innercircle members.

If you're serious Craig, drop me a pm on farceberk, i can maybe help you out with casks from a couple of distilleries...
I'd be interested in any info too.
Has anyone considered whisky broker's cask releases? They have quite a lot available.
I signed up for the 'interested' list for HP, but they're not cheap. I guess they can't go much lower, as it will affect their own single cask releases for £130-160 or so. It'll be interesting to see how long the storage is - since it's 12yo it's probably a bit older than many offerings from elsewhere.

Yes.
Long story short, they have no record of filling it and can't find it. They were previously adamant it had been filled but odd that no records show it. The place was a *bit disorganised to say the least, first time Podie and I went there they could only find 5 of them...and eventually found the 6th one. Then the 7th one showed up by the next visit and, as we know, only 7 made it to Newton Stewart. In fairness, it's a huge place and most of the staff have swapped out at least once since we bought the casks. Plus, you know, it's whisky. Rushing isn't how it's done
I haven't got a refund yet but have been assured that when they are confident it doesn't exist then, of course, they'll pay me back. I don't want to take the money then discover that they've found it - but it's not ours any more!
IF it isn't found and we get a refund, I think we can still buy a new octave from WB with A.N.Other spirit - the ben nevis in particular is excellent. Or if anyone wants out i'm happy to take their share and give a refund - plus a bit of interest from me for not being dilligent enough in chasing.

Did the bourbon cask get filled?
Yeah the guys at the distillery just went ahead and filled em both.Yes - think a return visit is in order ? Over 18 months since we were there. I think I recall everyone one of them days - not sure if the puppy we collected on the way home is showing any signs of growing up.
Also - it's been a bit warm this year. Can't vouch for Martin's warehouses but I am aware of some higher than anticipated Greedy Angel figures elsewhere as a result. Certainly wouldn't want to be going into another summer without some cask insight.

So, when can everyone manage??
We get back on the 8th. Don't want 30th November. Anywhere in between those sounds good.
Are we doing similar again (Thur/Friday) - presumably Martin won't want to be opening on Saturday for bottling.
Need to check on hotels again if working on the same principle - pour deux chien.
Although we are considering soon a shirt term hire of a caravanette to try before we buy.
Either option to sort as needed - I'll suss the hotels.
