Wilsons bitter was one of my favourites, before it was bought by Webster’s, my mother was born near the Brewery at Newton Heath.

.

Also Oldham Brewery bitter was a big favourite being the 1st pint i ever bought.

Have I missed a mention of Boddingtons ? Proper Boddys, brewed at Strangeways. Not the coloured water that carries the name now. Vile stuff.

The old draught Bass, or daft Bass as it was known. You could buy a really bad hangover for the price of three pints. Bargain.

John Willy Lees bitter, from Middleton. Fine paint stripper but not a great drink unless you were weaned on it.

Wilsons beers were good until Watneys waded in and watered it all down. Used to walk out with the accountants daughter. Fine lass and her dad always had a shed full of beer.

McKays of Alloa. Are they still about or gone the way of Interbrew. Neighbour was Sales Manager.........garage full of beer.

Lots more if I have the time.
