I hate how they are called sweetbreads, its nothing to do with bread makes no sense and always confuses!

Well, pancreas does sound a little less appealing LOL

Anyway, I'm going plain and boring chicken.

You can imagine the problems I have explaining English food to my Indian college. It was a struggle to get him to eat a mince pie as he thought it contained minced meat. Same problems with spotted dick, toad in the hole, bubble & squeak etc

Have a google for Rick Stein's Chettinad Chicken Curry. (Or look in the book.)

It's delicious with sweetbreads.

Discovered by accident as I saved a bag of what I thought were chicken fillets from the freezer at work. No date / label - it was about to get binned.

Sticks.

Had holy toad for the first time in years today. Didn't have room for the banana and custard, unfortunately.

I love Toad in the Hole, but I’m rubbish at making it. Either end up with burnt sausages, soggy Yorkshire or burnt everything.

Cheat. Make a giant yorkshire in advance. Bake the sausages. Combine with onion gravy.

New job and there is a canteen, unfortunately not subsidised, but knocking out some good grub. £6.50 for as much as you can eat.

YP can be tricky but check out Delia Smiths recipe. It works every time. The trick is to make the batter hours earlier and chill it (quick risk before using). Partially cook the snags and the YP mix will need at least 20 mins in a hot oven. Don't use too much mix. Fill to 3/4 of the sausage depth.

50p soup.

very healthy. Add herbs and salt and pepper and powdered garlic and sorted.

Add a can of 22p Baked beans and a meal that will fill you up.

All for less than 80p
