So I have some of the ALDI smoked mackerel fillets in peri peri seasoning. (similar pic below). What do YOU guys do with it? sure you can eat it on it's own.. but would rather eat it with something. intial thoughts was just to tear it up in a pasta salad. or just eat it over rice with regular soy sauce. if it's any good I might make it a go-to thing for work lunch.
Tried this a while back and it has too many bones for my liking - could have been a one off as I've not tried it again since. Only supermarket smoked Mackerel I can find that consistently is basically bone free is the Marks and Sparks version. Interested to know the bone content if you could please?

So I ate it for lunch today with some rice, was good, definately getting it again. As for bones... I'm used to eating a whole mackerel grilled so haven't got much problem with picking out bones as I eat it. There were bones in this but not much, it was mainly around the top edge of the fish (which always has bones) the main meaty body of the fish didn't really have any. Most of the bones were tiny and a little soft. the harder small ones being on the top edge of the fish.
Ate the plain smoked mackerel verson today, liked it much more then the piri-piri one. I only saw 1 bone. you could quite easily just peel the skin off if you wanted and all the meat would have no bones, then flake into a salad or something.
Or blitz together with some creme fraiche, or double cream serve with hot toast or oat crackers etc.

I can recommend the Cotleigh Barn Owl amber ale in the current ALDI beer festival range.

These...

Folded flatbreads. Really light and fluffy. Perfect replacement for the heavy thick shop bought naans and they split and toast up as a softer version of pitta breads.

Past few months I've refused to eat the rubbish naans from shops and made my own. Theses are a great weekday substitute when you can't be bothered.

good to know Aldi are selling these now, perfect with Humus, salad and Falafel with a touch of hot sauce.

M and S have some really nice German festival beers and I had a bottle of tiny rebel CWTCH which I have to say is one of the best I've had.

Anyone tried the specially selected beef burrito?

Picked one up but laughed at it feeding 5-6 as it will barely feed 2 in our house

You realise it’s Welsh... one of my favourite words/things ‘to cwtch up’.

None left in store yesterday.
Think http://www.theyorkroastco.com/ was behind the idea?

Just shows how tastes differ but I tried the draft after it won the best British ale or something. There must be something wrong with my taste buds because I thought it was dreadful!

(Plus to drink it in the brewery's own bars you have to
Put up with the most pretentious hipster fest on the
Planet)

trying not to jump on the bandwagon but if its the green/yellow boxes in the chiller section they're labelled as being from 2sisters and I'm avoiding where i can see a definite link to them.
