Aldi Paxo stuffing rip off not great. Won't be trying again. Worth the extra few pence for Paxo in my opinion.

I have run out of the fancy mail-order coffee beans that I usually use, so when in Lidls earlier this week I picked up some Kenyan beans in a funny wooden drum.

Stock Picture =>

They are the nicest supermarket beans I've had.

I shall have to return to try the other couple of varieties they had.

Not sure if they are a permanent product or a seasonal special.

I was bought all three this morning to go with the coffee grinder I'm being given for my birthday on Friday - I hope they're as good as you say....

Aldi have a Douro red wine in at the moment, Anima or something? It's very good for the price.
I believe they've got two in at present, one at £4.99 and the other, Gloria, at £6.99. Only tried the Gloria and it's pretty acceptable. Still think their Romanian Pinot noir, wolf-house is pretty special at around £5...

Quixo; both the wife and myself think it tastes far better than Paxo.

Furry muff, each to their own and all that. I found it a touch overpowering and a bit heavy on the sage.

I got a bottle of Needles Black Forest Gin from Aldi yesterday, it was very good. I'm going to get a few more bottles.
I’m debating this one - but having read a few write ups I can’t get the taste of Pine disenfectant out of mind.

Anyone care the post the real verdict?

Do any of Aldi/Lidl etc do decent little bottles of slimline tonic? Sick of fever tree it feels like a rip off.

Has anyone tried the Aldi breadmaker?

They've had them in several times before, and they came back in at the weekend.

£50... just wondering what people's experiences of them have been?

Someone should start an Aldi non-food thread. I nominate you smile

Yesterday picked up the carving knife set they have in.

Is that good? I notice it comes with 100m of material too

Or has someone at Aldi just figured out how to print a 3d printer with a 3d printer and they are banging them out like theres no tomorrow?

Not opened mine yet but I've read a bit of feedback on it and pine disinfectant wasnt mentioned anywhere laugh

Got sucked into another gin purchase today.

Only popped in for a pizza (the nice stone baked ones are lovely) and came out with some Christmas lights, some more stollen bites to replace the ones I ate after my last trip and a bottle of the 'Old Tom' gin.

I think I need to avoid Aldi for a while.

Called in for a spiced fruit loaf, left additionally with some of the chocolate coated stollen bites. This was a bad move, very more-ish.

Bought these last Christmas, glad they’re back on sale again this year. Both great, but especially the chocolate orange.

Picked up a bag of poverty wine gums by mistake (meant to grab 2 bags of Maynards and the 2nd pack turned out to be Sugarland). Have to say they are very good, far more chewy than the Maynards and a range of good strong flavours. And the bag is filled much fuller despite being more or less the same size for less money too.

Deffo one to try if you like this sort of thing.

Also got a small bottle of Sloe Gin but not opened yet.

I grabbed a bottle of that pink gin everyone is raving about. It's a single-drop, WIGIG line.

We haven't had any wine recommendations recently. The range seems to have improved markedly, but I'd rather you lot spent money hunting those elusive awesome tipples biggrin

I still pine for the original, black label Toro - that was such a high quality bargain!
