This week I have mostly been eating Aldi Carlos stone bake frozen pizzas. In particular the chicken and chorizo, they’re good for the price, £1.59 from memory.
Yep. Aldi is certainly pizza king of all the supermarkets, across both frozen and fresh products.
American Hot - fantastic with a few minor additions.

I've mentioned it before, they did a 'Sloppy Joe' a few years back that was absolutely amazing.

We never got the 'Etna' in our store though.

I bought this in my local Aldi (not UK) and have just noticed it's 15%. I'm not sure I've ever noticed an Italian wine being that strong before.

,

Although 14% and 14.5% abvs were the norm just a few short years ago, more Brunellos now claim 15% (a few even 15.5%

They're one and the same, Primitivo is the original (and some would say proper or correct) old world name, Zinfandel is the new world name. It's interchangeable and I suppose the label changes depending on which market it's being sold in. Continentals get Primitivo, us new world drinking plebs get Zinfandel as the name is likely to be more familiar to those who drink Californian.

Still on the wine front, this is always a good slurp, from Aldi, £6.99.

I think it’s a rebadged Boschendal Lanoy, which retails for a few quid more per bottle.

Nice heavy bottle with a deep punt, always a good sign.... rofl

I've got an Amarone lying down in my collection which is 17%

The Aldi one is clearly attempting to be an Amarone 'fake' with the name - I tried the SA version from Aldi but it's nothing like Amarone.. unfortunately

From a quick Google search, as I’m no wine buff.....

Amarone predominately originates from the Veneto region.

Alberone from the south of Italy, e.g.Puglia.

So I’m struggling to see how one can be a ‘fake’ of the other....

A social group I’m part of does an annual wine quiz, usually themed, e.g old world vs new, or Aldi / Lidl etc.

The Grand Alberone has “won” that quiz for the last two years, as the best wine sampled for the money.

It's origins are in Croatia, then to Puglia and eventually to California. It's my favourite, a good ZinPrim.

I haven't tried it yet, when I realised how full-bodied it was I selected something else to match the menu. (I know, I'm going native!) But thread wisdom seems to rate it. I'll post an opinion when it's gone down the hatch.

yes

More sort of a thick dog food Angel Delight in ball form, in a delicious West Country sauce. Scrumptious.
