Anyone any idea if this wine was specifically done for Aldi & if it's available from anywhere else or something very similar - the normal Gris that aldi have on the shelves isn't a patch on this and my stash has now ran dry frown

I think we've all ranted about the way ALDI stock things together and 1 thing is always sold out... For the past 2 weeks they've been out of white chocolate mousse bars, but everything else was in stock. I was lucky enough to snag 1 today, but i had to carefully look it over to make sure it wasn't damaged/something someone chucked back or the staff picked up.

Also...don't tell J*m*e Ol*v*r.. but I spotted this today.

Love the ambiguous ''sausage'' flavour.

I opened a bottle of 2018 Animus last night that’s been in the cellar for a while, it tasted a bit funky, I thought it had past its best so I’ve left a bit and opened a newer bottle tonight to compare. Yesterday’s bottle actually tastes better today with a bit of air.

They're 2 different wines. the one on the right being the marginally more expensive one.

You have to be careful as they do an Animus blend. It’s within a quid of the Douro.

I think the one on the left is the blend.

You are correct. S enjoys, maybe 3, max, glasses of wine a week. Duoro is her go to. I bought her a bottle of the other some weeks ago (in error) and she said it was very good, but not AS good as Duoro. IIRC it was just under £4.

Not food and drink, but I was chuffed with my compost bins from Lidl, in the sad way that only gardeners can be excited about this sort of stuff.

I noticed those small multi pots for getting things growing. was kinda interested in that in order to grow chilies. But IDK..I don't really have a green thumb (ive never gardened in any way)

Yeah, but they're square. You don't want square ones, mate. You want round ones. So you can stir your creation. Can't stir in a square.

The Rheinbacher Pilsner cans disappeared from my local store about 10 days ago and I bought the last 3 bottles of same earlier this week.

Not sure if it's been disrupted by import/export issues at ports, or whether Aldi is having a major supplier switch?

I think we can be sure that something will fill that gap though.

The cans are great value. Bottled beer is my preference but the canned product in this instant is indistinguishable.

I switched from Lidl to Aldi a few months back and I have to say the Aldi steaks are as consistently good as the Lidl steaks were consistently bad. I just had the 16oz rump with a slab of Stilton on top and it was like a giant fillet steak. Quite superb with a bottle of the Animus Douro too. Je suis pogged!
