That lived up to expectations, right on the limit for me, I'm simmering nicely now. Banana Nesquik with whole milk went well with it, in the absence of a mango lassi.

Bought an Islay single malt in Aldi. Superb value at £18. It must be laphroaig rebranded

My latest wine recommendation (iirc I was the one that originally highlighted the Unicorn that is the Grande Alberone from Puglia)

This Lebanese red piqued my interest and wow it’s a stunner. 14.5%, but full bodied and flavoursome for £7.99 a bottle (well, it is here in Wales, minimum alcohol pricing applies) but it’s so good I’ve bought a few bottles for Christmas and expect to have it with my Christmas dinner on the big day.

Recommended!

There’s always much debate on where these actually come from - well worth £18 though!

Cross posting in the "What Tawny port?" thread.

Was a Lidl special a week back, £12 a bottle. My local store still has plenty of bottles left.

Having tried it, it is a case of you get what you pay for, but it is still not that bad.

I bought a bottle a couple of years ago and it was awful but as with a lot of these they change supplier every now and again.

The Chevalier cognac isn’t bad for the price, I think that’s about £16 a bottle.

Currently avoiding crowds so haven’t been in for awhile. Anyone know if Aldi still do boneless chicken thighs with skin on please? Needed for Xmas day

Not around here. All the boneless ones are also skinless.

Can't you buy the skin-on thighs with bones and then de-bone them yourself? It's very easy.

Is it me or do Aldi seem worse and worse value for money on specials and some foods? The Big Stack for instance would be perfect at £1 but is what, £1.50+? I used to be excited by the MAOD but not I fond myself passing it ignored since its full of same old things every week!
