Inspired by this thread and the fact that I have lamb in the fridge, I'm heading out to Box Hill.
Matt, assuming I can collect enough, I'll happily post some to you in the morning. From experience, it'll be fine in a sealed container for 24hours or so.
There's loads in a patch on the RHS of Boxhill Road, about 100 yards before the Smith & Western, if approaching from the direction of the Zig Zag.Matt, assuming I can collect enough, I'll happily post some to you in the morning. From experience, it'll be fine in a sealed container for 24hours or so.

Thanks for the directions. Indeed, plentiful around there. Unfortunately, so was the rain and hail!
I can really lose my enthusiasm for foraging in weather like we're currently having mattdaniels said:
Yep it was pesto in the recipe I saw today (posted above).
Just need to find some.
As others have said it's easy to find. Do pick away from the path though and just pluck off the leaves, don't pick or pull up the whole thing. The flowers make a nice, if potent, snack as you pick.Just need to find some.

I've kept it in sealed containers in the fridge for weeks and it's fine so should be no worries posting it.Ps. don't bother with pine nuts for the pesto if you don't want to (they're so expensive). I've made it with cashews before (bit cheaper) and almonds, both of which worked fine.
Wild garlic is also lovely in wild garlic mashed potato or in almost anything buttery really (butter fried mushrooms etc). I just eat the leaves in sandwiches with cheese
Also, Wild garlic and nettle soup was probably the best soup I've ever made, ought to try it again this year really
