Need to find a more exciting pub.
Discussion
We have 2pubs near to mine.
The first is what they try and brand as an "upmarket bar" located somewhere where Severn Trent would love to build a sewage pump station. Yes the decor and menu prices are upmarket but the clientelle seem to think they can put on a posh accent upon arrival. Give it 10 mins and the normal selves comes out including usual bust ups, throwing of pints glasses and urinating everywhere but the urinal.
The other pub is complete opposite. Ember Inns so run of the mill but the people friendly and you would think most people go home with a bruise or 2 but infact its quite a nice place to be-on your own or as a bunch of friends.
There is a 3rd pub but thats abit of a further walk which is inbetween the 2. However the decor leaves alot to be desired.
I prefer pub 2 but for some unknown to me bizarre reason, I frequent the others too just to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I blame the rise in populartity of Becks Vier and other 'softy' largers. It's creating a generation of lightweights
They're still much stronger than the traditional British beers were in the past.I recall most bitters were circa 3.2-3.8%, with a British lager being largely under 4%.

Sort of wish right now I'd drank such beers last night instead of sampling some very fine IPA's, porters and stouts lol.

It's an almost Audi-esque exercise in niche marketing, but seems to have worked.
