Overnight in Brighton, and found this lovely steak place 'The coal shed'. Very good fillet, the ribeye was less so. Also ordered the burnt ends, wow!

And dinner last night on the promenade (place called Lucky Beach), probably the best burger I've ever had and she said the best F&C's she's had. Watching the sea roll in with the sunset probably helped though!

I've been to the coal shed a couple of times and the steak has always been brilliant. In fact everything they've cooked for me has been great.

Don't really know what to call this. Its slow roasted pork belly stuffed with apricots, almonds, various dried berries and ras-el-hanout on a sort of tagine mix with cous-cous, hummus and grilled pitta.

Awsome buffet at the splendid 5 star ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad.

Traditional biriyani cooked in a pot with a pastry lid - lid removed and discarded before the biriyani served.

Superbly tender and delicately spiced chicken, soft potatoes with spinach, mung beans and coconut, lentil dahl and veg curry on the main plate, then on the side plate chicken and river fish lightly grilled on an open fire. Washed down with an ice cold Kingfisher Ultra or 3.

Fantastic, a PROPER Biriyani is so much better than the BIR style we have here.

Superb looking food, I'd murder that fish right now!

A few more pictures with writing on smile

Thinly sliced marinated grilled pork with warm potato salad and cucumber salad.

Grilled Chicken Breast with salad, on the terrace with the sound of the Nürburgring playing softly 500 yards up the hill. smile

Halibut, Prawns & Veg, because we had to have a healthy meal.

That looks yummy!

For me, another saturday, another curry!

Tonight I did (clockwise from top) garlic chilli chicken, tarka dhal, carrot raita, onion relish, vegetable rice and an onion bhaji on the side.

For dessert, meringue (with egg whites left over and frozen from last week), home made vanilla ice cream (the stuff that didn't freeze in time last week), with strawberries and blueberries.

WTF, that is disgusting.

I can assure you its not! Steamed chicken (served cold), tastes fantastic, succulent and juicy. The Chinese prepare many outstanding meat and poultry dishes. However, they tend to leave parts of the animal still attached which may seem odd to a westerner.

it's a completely different food culture. I think steamed chicken is probably the lease offensive thing on the menu, to our tastes. For some reason they absolutely fking love flobby pale chicken skin... that's just the opposite for nearly all Brits I'd say!

Its only the presentation of the head that will bother some. I bet that chicken was very tasty.

Cheers thumbup

The mash was quite buttery and bit garlicy too.

Green things had butter added... and then excess pie gravy poured over.

Bread and butter always with pie, always.
