+1 here for both assuming the VAT was not shown in the prices on the menu board as the final bill was more than I was expecting and also down to the fact it's separated on the receipt and also for the over spiced cajun fries - terrible when I had them.

The burgers though I find lovely, agreeing with most on here they are belting but still overpriced. I like the feel of the place though and they come cooked perfectly to my taste and have always been exactly what I ordered with no mistakes. Not a huge thing but the very rare occasion I go to MacDonalds they do seem to struggle.

It reminds me of the Whopper Bar, I thought that was spot on for a dirty quick burger.

I despair at the fact even a sodding pickle has E numbers in it, FFS.

The ONLY thing worth ordering at McDonalds is the Big Tasty, everything else is crap imo, not a single other burger is worth buying.

Burger King on the other hand, mmmmmm.

Agreed. I really like the food FG offer but it's on the very edge of being too expensive.

Burger King used to be far superior. But the are rank now.

I do like 5 guys, but they are not 3 time better than McDonalds. asa the price would suggest they should be.

A Chosen Bun has just opened near work. Their burgers are very very good. But £10.50 just for a burger.

Some say, fries are simply empty carbs and best avoided - therefore completely optional. wink

The only burgers I tend to eat lately are cajun spiced chicken breast ones.

For the price, might as well go to Nandos...

I've not been to one yet, bit read in the Guardian today that a new 5 Guys in Paris is taking over €300K per week. So whatever they're doing, it works.

The image of the McD's Signature collection ln their banners is absurd. I know it's par the course and has always been the case but the Signature Collection really takes the piss. It's shown as this thick, juicy, colourful burger with browns and even a some pink to it, like it's come off your BBQ, when in reality it's quite thin, pale and dry. If they sold you something like on the photo they'd have a product to compete with the higher end!

I have yet to see any fast food place live up to the pictures. McDonalds may be improving the burgers but they also need to improve the fries on the more up market offering surely.
