Oi! Some of us have to work in Croydon on a regular basis! I know I know, I don't know who I upset either! I am at least going to check it out though having never been before! Quick and easy on works expenses!

Some of us have to stay there 3 nights a week for the foreseeable! We arrived in Calais a couple of hours early so filled up with Diesel and went to find a bite to eat at the Cite de Europe shopping centre next to the Tunnel terminal.
Their food court has a "Shake and Steak" burger bar which the kids got enticed by the diner look and feel and dragged me into.
Considering Cite De Europe to me feels no more than a service station with lots of shops, this turned out to be the best burger I've had in ages, and the basic cheeseburger (juicy double patty, cheese, gherkins, onions, sauce) plus a generous tub of great fries was only €5.95. Their more "special" burgers with extra fillings and fries were still only €7.95.
Given that I found most things (apart from diesel and wine) seem more expensive in France at the moment compared to home, this was quite a surprise. I'm not sure if Steak and Shake are a US brand, but if they came to the UK with these sorts of prices and quality, they'd give the other gourmet places a very good run for their money.

Where is your hometown and I'll pop into the Wimpy if I'm ever in the area
Here it is in all its glory, the Town is called Dingwall which is in the Scottish Highlands near Inverness, pop in if you ever do the NC500 as it's only a couple of mile detour of the route. Apart from Wimpy there is not much else here tho so don't get your expectations up!
I have only eaten in it once years ago when it opened, I could possibly go in this week and sample their delights and post the pics here for you to reminisce?!
