Mmmmm - what pub? I live in Surrey, and I want to eat one of those! The White Horse, Whitley is the best I've had. The burger pictured was after I got it home so had been sitting for maybe 15 mins in the bag.

If only Chick fil A would come to London. I'm sure they put crack in those sammiches!
I popped into one in Charlotte when I was out there earlier this year. I was looking for somewhere to eat and saw this place was pretty busy. Glad I did! Pretty simple fried coated chicken breast burger and crinkle cut fries, but pretty delicious! anonymous said:

Five guys isn't frozen, also the meat is just right re fat content etc, they have done thier homework. If they ever sell out and start using frozen pattys it will empty like a sinking ship. McDonald's use frozen pattys, freezing meat destroys a fair bit of the taste. GT03ROB said:

Which is why Kuwait city has a very large diabetes research institute...
Correct!! That 1 mile stretch I refer to is not even in the city, just a suburb.
The Kuwaiti's only do 2 things for entertainment ....... eat and shop.

5 guys, shake shack, whataburger and smash burger are ok. nothing more. overproced. Mcd's BK are rank, do a job in an emergency (late night when everything else is closed) but you feel ill afterwards and they repeat on you. bleecker is probably the best burger in london but is again expensive and fatty.
if chickafil or in 'n' out or jack in the box opened in the UK with the same taste as the usa they would clean up.
they wont though, in in n outs case due to regional product sourcing.
the best burger i had was in a ordinary bar in san francisco.
i find that the UK just doesnt do the whole chain fast food thing anywhere near as well as the yanks, in taste or appearance. Things that work so well over there just dont translate. i dont mind having a mcdonalds in a non emergency situation in the states as it tastes better.

I think Bleeker is crap. Have been twice now and both times been served a really skinny burger cooked medium rare which pretty much means due to the thickness of it that it's pretty much raw. Total rubbish. The problem with all the London burger start ups like bleeker, hache, honest, Tommies and the like is that they are all trying to stand out in a crowded market which leads to stupid burger toppings and toppings for fries and all that which they try to use as their USP and signature and it just doesn't work. Take honest burger for instance. Their fries are garnished with rosemary. Twin this with some of their burger or heaven forbid their onion rings that have cumin and other spices and the resulting fight for dominance in your meal is just vomit inducing.
Seen a few people mention 7Bone and realised that the burger I had in Camberley last month was from there.
Pretty good as I recall. The fries were tepid - when the waitress came over to check everything was ok, we mentioned that. A couple of minutes later, we had a massive portion of far more fries than we could possibly eat which were piping hot.
Going out tonight and may eat there again

I don't like this fad of serving burgers pink in the middle. Its not a steak cook it through.Cotty said:

Not a great fan either. Moist is good, not undercooked. One of the reasons I like thinner patties as they are easy to cook through. Was not keen on the Patty & Bun burger I had that tasted of raw mince and the juices drenched the bun and my arms when eating.

I don't disagree at all but the patties that I had from bleeker were about as thick as a burger in a Big Mac and there is no way you can cook those medium rare without it just being like steak tartare sealed on the outside. rare in the middle is what a good burger should be....
