Being a massive lager fan, i know i could easily keep up with a "pub" keg but think the cooler setup looks a bit complicated for my needs plus i need to keep SWMBO happy as well.
The Blade is great if you drink lager. I’m not massively into lager, but the Moretti from the Blade is lovely. I would not personally get rid of the Perfect Draft for it, but I’m more of an IPA drinker overall.

The Blade cools quicker and pours better than the Perfect Draft. The beer works out slightly cheaper as well.

The only downsides I can think of are;

1. The noise when it’s cooling is much louder than the Perfect Draft.
2. It won’t fit on a kitchen counter under standard higher wall units.
3. The looks are a bit subjective. I quite like it, but it’s more commercial machine than home really.

I’ve just resurrected my perfect draft after a few months. I stopped buying kegs for it because I was going through them in a couple of days. It was getting expensive and unhealthy!

The machine seems to be making the buzz it makes when pressurising the keg (I assume) more often than normal. Every few minutes after fitting the keg. I’ve removed the keg and refitted the tap unit, making sure both sides click into place, but it’s still doing it.

How often do they generally make the buzzing noise? I swear I only really used to get it when I was pouring.

Makes it when pouring and ‘every now and again’ is best I can say! But definitely not only when pouring, but it’s not a nuisance. If it’s going off once or twice an hour for example I’d say is much more than normal.

We just go through a keg on a one off basis when we want to let loose and need a good evening - so go through a full keg between the two of us! Otherwise stick to cans / wine for casual drinking during the week.

I love the machine but if you run it always you end up drinking way more for sure.

Thanks. I’m not going mad then. It’s been doing it every 5 to 10 minutes since I put the keg in this morning. Having not been used for a while I guess the o-rings on the tap could have dried out and shrunk slightly. I’ve run them under warm water for a couple of minutes and will see how it goes.

If that doesn’t work there are seal kits you can buy.

It’s certainly an easy way to drink way more than you mean to. Another cheeky half every time you pop into the kitchen!

I’ve got the Tiny Rebel Club Tropica in there. Lovely stuff.

Mines was resurrected on Thursday. Over the course of the weekend i had a Stella & Borgo Lisa kegs. I've loaded up a Lowenbrau for some light refreshments tonight.
The big issue with the PD is that its just too easy. The machine draws me in & by the time i know it. i'm six pints in & the missus isnt talking to me :-)
I've now got a shop 15 miles from me that takes the kegs & seems to have a constant supply

It certainly requires some self-restraint! I've now got three machines running as I haven't been going to pubs but enjoy a bit of choice.

That means leaving them on through the week even though I only drink on weekends. It's often really tempting to pour a quick one midweek, but I do manage to resist. The only slight problem is on the weekend - it's much easier to justify one more pour than it would be to open another can/bottle at the end of the night.

I'm still really liking mine, but limit myself to a keg a month. I actually really like not having to bother with cans and bottles

Three Machines ? All PD ? I was thinking about adding a Blade so i could have Moretti on tap.
I struggle with the restraint, that why its been packed away tongue out
I do agree with the can / bottle thing - Its the walking out to the bin & the neighbours hearing the clink laugh

Two PDs and a Blade. I generally have two IPAs or one IPA and one Weiss beer on the PDs and Moretti on the Blade. It's been nice to have the choice given the lack of pub visits. Overall consumption is probably up a bit, but not too much.

I probably won't use the Blade as much over the winter as lager is more a summer thing for me.

Yep. The Blade kegs are a bit embarrassing when they go into the recycling box though - they are massive! PD ones are better because they get picked up separately.

Too much! I've had mine a few weeks and tried Spaten Oktoberfest, Leffe and Stella. So many good beers to get through and it is as easy as pouring a glass of water. Great for having a pint while watching the football. The Spaten was sensational but I was expecting better from the Stella after all the reviews. I'll maybe try to switch it off for a couple of weeks after the I finish this keg though.

The CO2 cartridge and gubbins are built into the barrel. Pours perfect draught lager.

I’ve had a couple of the other Krombacher kegs without the C02 built in and they are great. These look a much better solution, especially for those without a machine.

They look good and not too expensive. Humphing them in and out of the fridge all the time must be a slight pita though

They generally don’t stick around long enough to get warm round these parts!

Worth it for this alone...!

Was at a friends last night and it has convinced me to order one this morning as we won’t be able to go to the pub for a month and the Sub, whilst having a good selection of beers, just doesn’t have the capacity required!

I realise this was a few months ago now but I'm having this exact same issue i haven't used the PD machine since November and fired a keg in today and its buzzing pressurising every minute. Did you sort the problem?

Whenever I’ve had that it’s always that the tap isn’t seated correctly on the keg.

It always feels like it is on there properly, but I think some kegs must be slightly ‘off’. I’ve never had one that hasn’t worked in the end, but some I’ve had to re-seat it 4-5,times.

I used to have some that struggled to seat but last year the o rings went (clearly cracked).

Ordered a new set from eBay, swapped them over and good as gold ever since.
