Ended up at my veritable favorite yo sushi and five guys. Five guys better, as I customised it more. Yo sushi, for 30 quid just seemed too much and tasted different to last time I went.
I always feel i've been bent over and entered when i go to Yo Sushi, seem good value at first but soon adds up Ive not eaten then probably in 7-8 years. but as a student it seemed expensive as you'd end up spending about £30 and not be completely full.

Really? It's incredibly mediocre sushi at more than I tend to pay for decent stuff. If they weren't located conveniently, they'd disappear soon enough.
i paid 5 quid for salmon sashimi dish, which in a restaurant would be easily double that for decent stuff. it makes Japanese food more accessible. Yes loads of restaurant are better, like tempura, yakitori etc but it never sets out to compete with these.28 quid for
crispy squid
chicken katsu curry
salmon sashimi
beef teriyaki
crispy salmon skin roll
1 bottle of warm sake
is good value really but it is expensive against other restaurants like nando etc.

I go here (http://www.sushibaratariya.co.uk/james-street-take-away.html - ignore the "takeaway" bit, it's a cafe) for sushi in Central - no airs or graces, but I'd be damn sure that I'd be more satisfied after spending thirty quid there than at Yo.

It's really not good value for the quality of product you're getting, and you don't need to book Nobu to experience better.

the thing is you said you pay less for better stuff which i would find very hard to believe, Proper Japanese food is quite expensive. Yo sushi offers a smorgasbord of bites, like a tapas really and similar priced. it is like comparing Frankie and Bennys to Peter Luger's.I go here (http://www.sushibaratariya.co.uk/james-street-take-away.html - ignore the "takeaway" bit, it's a cafe) for sushi in Central - no airs or graces, but I'd be damn sure that I'd be more satisfied after spending thirty quid there than at Yo.
anyway someone post some pictures up..

Have I missed something....this is still the Dirty Takeaway Pictures forum right? All this talk of Sushi restaurants seems extremely out of place...unless the 'takeaway' is the tapeworm you risk getting by eating manky uncooked fish!
