What does takeaways mean in the context of the map, number of outlets or number consumed?
If I recall correctly from the article (I read it, but a few days ago) it's number of outlets.Greshamst said:
London, that famously sparsely populated part of the country. House prices must be cheap there
If you go to the original source of that graphic (BBC article), you can zoom in and you'll see that most of London is super dark red.On that screenshot London is actually obscured by the word "London", so it looks like it's a light shade of pink.
According to our local paper (Blackpool Gazette) we have the the 2nd most takeaways at 97 per 100,000 population, only behind Westminster in London. Its risen to a total of 135 since 2010 when there were 70. But then again the actual population is about 140k but obviously increases considerably during the season, and a lot of takeaways are concentrated near to the prom and town centre.
Anyway back to pictures of food. My last 3 takeaway meals from a new Thai place (Ting Tongs) that has recently opened in Blackpool.
Thai Green Curry (Chicken) and Duck spring rolls
Khow Pad Poh Taek - Hot and Spicy Rice with Chicken and Duck spring rolls
Pad Preaw Wan - Chicken stir fried with vegetables and pineapple an a sweet and sour source and Duck spring rolls.
