£4.5k for this little baby.

https://www.creativeoutdoorliving.co.uk/catering-t...

I reckon a summer evening in a town square you'd be fending them off with a pizza paddle if you were asking £5 or £6 each and the product was good.

Can you easily get permission to set up shop like that?

It would depend on what town - there is a blanket exclusion in our council area.

I've thought about trying something a few times as I have a couple of areas that could attract the footfall but there are quite a few barriers. One of them is probably my laziness but it's not quite as easy and as profitable as it seems.

There's also probably a market to set up with pubs - it's a big expense for them to fire out proper pizza out in the summer when everyone's in the beer garden. But you can charge the pub £6/time, the pub charges the punter £10/time, everyone's happy. Obviously, it'd need to be a nice pub, in the type of place that everyone on PH seems to live.

Trying to do it in the carpark of a flat-roofed pub on a sink estate is irredeemably council.

I’m in Joburg. Yeah the exchange rate makes it so cheap for us. I will be in CT in a couple of weeks time so will check it out. I’m here until April enjoying 30 degrees while you guys all freeze your butts off hehe
I just landed at a slightly snowy Heathrow from Cape Town this morning, please don't rub it in! The 10 ZAR (60p) Uber Eats delivery fee meant that I got a lot of takeaways!

Making great money from pizza or any other type of food sounds great on the face of it. There is a reason though that you never see a real rich take away owner and why they are open all hours....

I’m usually all for morning leftovers but chips always taste gross the next time round. Am I alone in thinking this?

No you’re not. Stale chips are awful. I don’t even like cold chips

21oz french trimmed prime rib grilled with coarse salt and burnt butter served medium rare sliced.

Accompanied by beef dripping crispy chips, fresh chilli, creamed spinach, stir fried cabbage and bashed pumpkin

250 ZAR = £14

It's a very close call as to whether the above or the £16 medium Domino's American Hot I had last night represents better value. I'm going to go out on a limb and say, you won.

Please don't take this in the wrong way, but you're so wide of the mark with this comment.

I never take anything the wrong way.... so you’re telling me that running a take away is the fast track to £££ and it’s really easy then hey?

It's not easy, I'll give you that. It is also not a "fast track" to easy cash. But it can make you relatively rich. I work with a few franchisees of Domino's and, trust me, they're loaded and started with nothing.

There is a lot of money to be made; people who have multiple Dominos/Subway franchises in the right places make a lot of money.
