You want the one further up the road, Tony's Fish and Chips. Far superior to the stuff served up at the former Empire. Or if you fancy chicken on your next trip oop north check out Marstons Chicken.
Or have a trip out to the dales... loop through one of [Guiseley (Wetherby Whaler), Otley (Maypole fisheries), Ilkley (Grandpa Nichols)], then drive out up to Kettlewell, Buckden, over the tops to Wensleydale, back through Ripon and Harrogate to pick up the A1.

Had to guess numerous usernames and passwords to log in and post this but... Unfortunately Tony's has closed down! Marston's still going strong.
Tony’s is the v small hut on opposite side of Road to Empire/Whether by whalers (next to what used to be a friends house, now a nursing home). Was open on the Saturday lunchtime. Not been to it for 30+ years when round said friends.

Used to be the goto fish’n chips shop in Stanley/Outwood Was Annie’s further up leeds road heading towards Wakefield.

Oh happy days - having decent fish n chips on your doorstop !!

Merrily demolishing this lot, accompanied by a bottle of sriracha sauce, a glass of Thatcher's Haze and Rab C Nesbitt on the telly.

Ah, ignore me then. When you mentioned Marston's I assumed you meant Tony's chippy in Deighton, Huddersfield.

Proper Dutch fries are crispy fries covered in mayonnaise, peanut satay sauce and small chopped squares of raw onion

I'd say not, with all the foil trays in picture. Looks good too, pity the taste disappointed.

The way they make them is chop the onion into tiny cubes and mix the mayo and satay sauce together in a bowl and then add the fries and mix. Very simple. The fake ones just pour it on top

I'd strongly agree with your Otley recommendation but the best chippy in Guiseley is Victoria Fisheries (they actually do pies as well), closely followed by Springfield Fisheries. If you're over the hill towards Skipton then Riverside Fisheries in Cross Hills is much better than anything you'll find directly in Skipton, but will be full of children at lunch when they're at school.

The Thatcham Special - £13. There's more meat than is apparent in the picture, chips out of shot. I could only manage half but I didn't touch the pittas (used them for breakfast this morning). The rest is for dinner tonight.

I will try... I haven't been to Victoria for a very long time.
