for anyone interested ASDA are selling 70cl Haig Club for £16.
I have heard haig club is actually really nice, I have always dismissed it. Is it any good? The Haig Club I actually have no issue in drinking, it’s obviously become fashionable for whiskey snobs to slate it (see above) but it’s far from the worst.

Really liking this one, but have not found anything to follow up with after it's empty.
I like subtle but very characterful coastal Whiskies I think.
Suggestions are very much welcome.
I've got a bottle of that sitting in the cupboard waiting to be opened, which will probably be next month. Glad to hear it is good! I like subtle but very characterful coastal Whiskies I think.

Have you tried Kilkerran? It's a slightly smoky Campbeltown malt which is the sister distillery to Springbank. Very high quality and very nice indeed.

Hi all
Sorry in advance, not sure why you now have broken necks.
Annual whisky festival fringe in Edinburgh on Friday. Something crazy like 300 different whisky's to pick from.
Thanks for the sore neck... Looks great, I must go one year.Sorry in advance, not sure why you now have broken necks.

It was announced on FB that the winning whisky was the Tomatin 17 PX single cask, so, being a marketeers dream, I had to buy one. Sold out now though.

Postie has been...
Out of all the stuff I tried - this was one of my favourites.

I have heard haig club is actually really nice, I have always dismissed it. Is it any good? The people who have said it is nice are not whisky drinkers, to be honest, so thought as much.
Would rather drink from a perfume bottle.
Nasty.

The second most expensive drain cleaner was Jack Daniels, tasted of soap. Apparently , it happens now and again, according to someone in the trade who informed me such.

Clynelish and Ledaig are both worth a go if the smack of tar and salt in your dram adds to your enjoyment - it does for me.I like subtle but very characterful coastal Whiskies I think.

Clynelish 14 is my staple drink! Salty and oily, I like it like that. Need to explore more exotic bottlings.

Single casks after approximately 2004-2005 can often be very nice. The LMDW one with the feather on it is a cracker, but £180 a bottle in auction sadly. The 1971-1974 bottles are also often stunning, but price to match. Have not found a Ledaig that sits well with me yet - If there's a must try please shout.

This one also won Malt Maniacs bested peated in the premium class a year or two back, and is reasonable value considering most whisky these days. Have a bottle, but not had a chance to try it yet.
Postie has been again. I must admit that I have absolutely no intention of opening this, I bought it mainly because I loved the way it looked and thought it would look nice in my cabinet. That and the donation to charity. I'm going to shift a couple of NAS Macallans at auction (at less than RRP no doubt) to make more space.

I've got the same bottle (318). I'll be opening it at some point, but I'm in no rush.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
