I've just taken a look at a bottle of that at the whiskey shop, sounds delicious , maybe one for next month.
Mistake made. It was Batch 10 that I was drinking. I have another bottle squirrelled away so I just need to find a deserving day to open it.Finished a bottle of Maker's Mark 46 last night. I had forgotten just how smooth it is.
Nice. So around 300 quid a bottle is my guess then.
I opened a bottle of Penderyn Peated (April 2011 release) last night that has been sta in my cupboard for nearly 4 years
They fill the spirit into casks that contained peated whisky so the effect is very subtle but it is so smooth. Everytime I try a whisky from this distillery I ask myself why I don't buy more bottles from them. Top stuff.

I'm a fan of Penderyn too. I've had a couple of bottles of the peated which were, as you say, quite subtle but I did the distillery tour last year and sampled the peated they had open for that and that bottle was much more in your face. I don't think they said where they source the casks from but that was quite a different whisky. The chap who was running the tour enjoyed it too. The sherry and madiera finishes are also good.I opened a bottle of Penderyn Peated (April 2011 release) last night that has been sta in my cupboard for nearly 4 years

It was released about 3-4 years ago, and was a bargain at the time - just wish I'd picked up another:

Sadly the limited release now available is quite a bit more expensive..

I'm coming towards the end of a bottle of the port wood from the same place - it's one that reminds me I'd just bought my current car, and an early finish at a datacentre in the Valley's led to some spare time hooning around the Beacons and a trip to the distillery, adding a few hours to the usual time taken to get back to the hotel in Cardiff..

I have a bottle of the Swansea Portwood Release at home and I am looking forward to trying it at some point. It was released about 3-4 years ago, and was a bargain at the time - just wish I'd picked up another:

Having a look at some of the other Portwood releases is eye opening
