Did anybody else get the new HP single cask release today? I was sitting in the back of a meeting trying to subtly press F5 for ages,
Didn't know that HP came out yesterday although I don't really drink it at all. I'm quite lucky in that I rarely have to be subtle. Normally it is a case of 'I'm trying to buy some whisky. Give me a few minutes' which now met with a cursory nod and a look of not again.... Birdster said:
I wasn't in to Whisky back then so can't complain about that price, but when you put it like that it makes that price harder to swallow.
Sometimes this overseas/airports purchases turn out quite well.
To me a lot of the Japanese stuff is very good, but when you compare what you can buy for the equivalent money a lot of them are just not worth it. Particularly if you haven't tasted it before. Then it makes sense to share with friends/ a club where you can share the costs for a full bottle and see if it's worth the money to you.Sometimes this overseas/airports purchases turn out quite well.
I do hope they haven't spoiled it - although the trailer looks like it hasn't added anything that wasn't in the original.

Just finshed this. I'm looking forward to stocking up on some more at the distillery, if they haven't sold out that is.
I've had the Ichiro's Malt since it was released about 4 or 5 years ago. It is one of only Japanese whiskies that I have left that I can open. Very nice and still reasonable priced (approx. 100Euros) so I will have to gt another one soon.
The English one is something I picked up when I was at the distillery last summer. An odd one really. I was drinking it 2 days ago with out water and it was very smooth. Last night, it need a good few drops as it was akin to fire water. Still very nice.
I'll be going back to the distillery this summer as it would be rude not to pop in again considering that it is only 20km from my parent's house!

Have you tried the 25?
I'm not one for spending lots of money on expensive whisky, the 21yr old Glengoyne was really the exception for me at over £100 mark!!!!!Well, back to reality and I'm having a late afternoon session on my last weeks acquisition "The Glenturret Sherry Edition" and at under £45.00 an absolute bargain.
