Did anybody else get the new HP single cask release today? I was sitting in the back of a meeting trying to subtly press F5 for ages, laugh
Didn't know that HP came out yesterday although I don't really drink it at all. I'm quite lucky in that I rarely have to be subtle. Normally it is a case of 'I'm trying to buy some whisky. Give me a few minutes' which now met with a cursory nod and a look of not again.... hehe
It was for the Highland Park Appreciation Society group. It's a good group to find out about new stuff coming out in the future. It took over an hour of pressing F5 to get it as it crashed the Braunstein website they were selling it through. I have quite a few samples of the other ones, as well as the Chris Maile and Dannebrog bottles, so interested to see what it is like. Normally at work it's fine, but this was a meeting. Thankfully I could contribute at the start, and the later stuff I didn't need to add much (when the F5 bashing started).

I wasn't in to Whisky back then so can't complain about that price, but when you put it like that it makes that price harder to swallow.

Sometimes this overseas/airports purchases turn out quite well. smile
To me a lot of the Japanese stuff is very good, but when you compare what you can buy for the equivalent money a lot of them are just not worth it. Particularly if you haven't tasted it before. Then it makes sense to share with friends/ a club where you can share the costs for a full bottle and see if it's worth the money to you.

I do hope they haven't spoiled it - although the trailer looks like it hasn't added anything that wasn't in the original.

Heads up.
Johnnie Walker Green Label reduced from £40 to £30 at Morrisons.

Cheapest I've seen it, and about £6 cheaper than anywhere I can find it.

Just finshed this. I'm looking forward to stocking up on some more at the distillery, if they haven't sold out that is.

I've half way through a Peated Chapter 15 and I have to say it's very good stuff, very well made. I previously had a non Peated sample one and that was good too. Must get some more.....

I've had the Ichiro's Malt since it was released about 4 or 5 years ago. It is one of only Japanese whiskies that I have left that I can open. Very nice and still reasonable priced (approx. 100Euros) so I will have to gt another one soon.

The English one is something I picked up when I was at the distillery last summer. An odd one really. I was drinking it 2 days ago with out water and it was very smooth. Last night, it need a good few drops as it was akin to fire water. Still very nice.

I'll be going back to the distillery this summer as it would be rude not to pop in again considering that it is only 20km from my parent's house!

Deliciously heavily sherried, it'll be difficult to make this last.

Had to open the box for a second glassbiggrin

I'm not one for spending lots of money on expensive whisky, the 21yr old Glengoyne was really the exception for me at over £100 mark!!!!!

Well, back to reality and I'm having a late afternoon session on my last weeks acquisition "The Glenturret Sherry Edition" and at under £45.00 an absolute bargain.

When you first roll it around your mouth, it's quite pleasant, but the finish is a little sour for me. Can't win them all eh!

Opened this the other day. I haven't had a bottle of the Signet for years and had forgotten just how chocolately it tastes. I also opened a Rum (I know, sorry) that I bought last year on a whim and it is dangerously drinkable.
