They're delivered in a cardboard box, the pucks are inside a poly bag, inside the box.

I just pop them (8 at a time) in ziplock freezer bags and pop them in the chest freezer for easy usage when required.
Ok chap cheers. Would you recommend them and how big is the box of them roughly - the spare freezer is not operational at the moment!

I’d recommend them for taste and simplicity.
The box is around 1ft x 1ft x 18” from memory.

Decantering into smaller bags is the way forward. Easy to store too.

UUNI 3 for £169.99 using a 15% code of SPRING15 https://www.cuckooland.com/brand/uuni/uuni-3-wood-...

Also works on pellets and the like.

Does anyone know if there is a gas burner for the Uuni 2? cant see anything at first glance. The pellets work well but they dont burn very cleanly.

I think you need both the updated pellet burner from the 3 and then the gas attachment. They were offering the updated burner for ~£25 a while back but it isn’t listed on the website.

Not used my 2S for a while, need to dig it out of storage.

Got my Maximus out of the shed after it’s winter hibernation.

Fired it up Thursday evening and knocked out 9 pizzas to friends and kids.

Delicious, roll on more sunshine.

Does anyone own one of the full size ovens from eBay?

My parents bought one (can find out the seller name if you want?).

It seems to work well; they've had it about 1.5 years and it's got some small thermal expansion cracks but nothing major. Seems to do a good job and retain heat well, but I've got no other pizza oven experience to compare it too!

What size did they go for?

I seem to recall a PH’er having one delivered and then having a major comical issue with actually getting it in to his garden. I’m sure he started a thread about it.

Just checked; it was the 90x90 model from this seller.

The oven arrived on a pallet, and we used a pallet jack to get the oven to roughly the right place. We placed large ply sheets over the grass to make sure the jack didn't dig in or damage the grass btw. Then bottle jacks and cinder blocks were used to raise one side up at a time to the correct height, followed by rocking and levering the oven back into place. Would probably have been easier to hire a scissor lift pallet jack...

I remember the other thread. That PHer had a very steep slope to their garden, but managed it somehow. Luckily it was fairly straightforward with a level garden.

Thanks, I’ve had the 100x100 version from the same seller on my watchlist for a while.

I really need to sort the garden out first but it seems the easy option is to just get someone to build me a suitable base and then get the oven.

I’ve not used my Uuni 2S as much as I wanted to. Maybe I’d use a full size oven more regularly?

We've got the ebay style one, was left by the previous owner when we bought the house. It's not the best design with the chimney at the crown of the dome - you really want the heat to circle round and not go straight up the chimney! Again ours has got some cracks but for the few times we've used it, it seems to work OK and pizzas do seem to taste better. Hope to use it more this year when friends come over at which point it should really come into it's own

First of my 2018 wood fired pizzas last night, how I’ve missed them after a winter on the electric machine thingy.

I've got a 'full size' one (internal area about 2' square). I know from the DTA thread you're fairly local to me - head down to Creative Outdoor Living at Wentworth, they have a comprehensive range and the fella there can tell you absolutely everything you need to know. If you give him some notice of when your going to visit then he may even fire up the monster he has in the showroom for you that takes about 3 days to get up to temp!

Mine was small enough to fit in the car boot and whilst a bit awkward to get down the garden by hand, no real hassle to set up.

It does take a little planning to use as it takes a while to heat up and then to cool down... So make pizza first on high heat, then leave some stuff in cast iron pots to slow cook smile

My parents keep their oven under a waterproof tarp so it doesn't get as humid inside which means less need to worry about slowly getting the oven up to temp over several days after a wet spell.

I also have a full sized pizza oven with side order of barbecue, all built by the previous owner of the house. It has an internal diameter of around 1.2 m and will take around 2 hours to get to pizza making heat (there are photos of it on page 2 of this thread!). I believe it was imported from Italy but can't say for sure. It is a pre-fab and comes in sections which get simply put together. It obviously has a cement render lining but otherwise appears modular.

I see so many Uuni ovens and similar here and that is a great way to make pizza and maybe a few other dishes if you can be bothered. Once the full sized oven is fired up, you can do anything that you can do with a normal oven and more (ovens don't do Pizza as they don't get hot enough). Make bread, do your roasts, long slow cook overnight when the oven is dying down, stick a tray of bacon, sausages, tomatoes etc in there for brekkie and pretty much anything else you can think of. It is a real joy but takes a while to get going and you smell like bonfire-man all day long; which means you need to change before your guests arrive!

If you can stomach the investment (presumably well over £1k but that's worth checking) I would suggest you all look carefully into the real thing. You will never look back and if what I hear is correct, it will add value to your house too! It will certainly offer some interest to the male viewer whilst the female of the party checks out the rest of the place! (Apologies, that sounds a bit sexist when I read it back but it's not meant to be!)

On saturday night I marinaded some de-boned chicken thighs and put them on the rotisserie over the barbecue side; wap it in some pitta with some crunchy onion, grated carrot, fresh coriander and sliced cabbage salad (with a simple dressing of olive oil, vinegar, sugar and a little sumac) and Bob's yer uncle, the best kebab you'll ever taste. My wife's words, not mine (although I had to agree!).

Have a great Summer all!

How do you get on with the Maximus? I have just bought one and I'm getting to bloke in to build a base for it and a large barbecue.

I was so impressed with the Uni 2 that I purchased a pizza oven from a company in Portugal. It was meant to arrive before Christmas but we could not get a haulier to transport it to Brittany so in the end the turkey was done in the household oven, not the fault of the vendor though.

In the end a mate offered to drive to Portugal on his way to look at a Cadillac, and the oven is currently sat at my daughters (they have a manitou) ready for me to install at my place when I get back in June.

What I would say is that the Uni etc are addictive.

I love it. We've used it loads, mostly pizzas when we have guests around. It will easily churn out a pizza every 2 mins and keep going so long as you keep popping wood on. Thinly chopped logs are ideal, and keep it topped up once the initial heat stage has occurred.

It will also hold the heat for a good 3-4 hours, not as long as a "proper" over, but the Maximus takes around 30-45 mins to get to initial temperature and is also move able with 2 people if you need ever to.

Had a couple of parties last year where 20+ guests (and kids) made their own, and everyone raved on about how much fun it was. Great value too.
