Went gbk last week and the skinny fries which were lovely are now identical to burger King fries. Not a change for the better.
Having said that the cheeseburger is still banging. As are the shakes.

Not had a Big tasty in a long time and spotted it on the menu... large meal.... 9 quid!!

I almost didn't bother. Still did. It was not good either, no where near as good as I remember.

£8.09 for me on the app, but that's still quite a lot (for McDonald's)..

I saw 8.89, so maybe my bad eyes or its more expensive where I was?
Total was just over £10 with a Christmas pie thingy, which was also garbage.

I still maintain that Bleecker Burger continues to the best burger in the UK.

It might not be the biggest few bites for £9, but my god it is good.

Just tried Honest Burger for the first time. Went for the Smash burger, which was still juicy with the heavy char but I think it would have been a better idea to go with the regular or the bacon burger (what ever that is called).

I like Bleecker but for what they charge the burgers should be bigger. It's not like the raw materials are expensive. I do get it delivered sometimes.

For eat in, It's getting to the point where it is better value to get a burger at Hawksmoor or Gaucho

You can spend 25 on burger/ chips/drink in Shake Shack, 5 guys, Bleecker

Or you can spend a bit more (maybe 50 with beer and a pudding?), sit in a nice restaurant, better food and have a nicer experience

I think Gaucho charges 20 for a large burger with chips, these places are charging 10-12 for a small burger and 5 for chips

Yes and no, the thing I like about Bleecker is the flavour, because they use 30-60 day dry aged beef, so it’s beefier tasting, but their meat cost is going to be more than wet aged, or not aged beef.

They used to get their supply from my favourite butcher, who stopped supplying them because the butcher couldn’t provide the quality they wanted, for the price they wanted. I respect turning down business to maintain standards, not many people have that kind of pride!

Obviously I don’t know if that was from Bleecker’s greediness, or their profit margins. But it was interesting.

The Beefy Boys, to whose Hereford restaurant I have gone well out of my way to visit because they are so good, are opening in Cheltenham in a couple of months' time. That is a bit less off the beaten track and their burgers are the best I've had anywhere - I'd recommend a visit. Having tried their more recent Shrewsbury restaurant and found consistent quality there, I have high hopes for Cheltenham. Although I risk getting fat(ter) since it'll be so much easier for me to get to.

Visited Beefy Boys once when I was road tripping that part of the country. 50 miles 'off route' but as you say, worth it!

Had my first at Grillstock Bristol many years ago.

I really like Honest Burger, I double up and add bacon if I get the smashed burger.

not a fan of the rosemary chips at honest burger and the herb clashes with the seasoning they use in their onion ring batter so the two together just dont gel.

Its annoying that you can't book a table. I have been to two of them in The City and they were good. I get them well done as I don't like them pink in the middle, don't like raw mince neither do the people I ate with.
