£6.70 including fries, takeaway though and not the finest quality burger, you do get 3 of them though.

Oof, that is a thing of beauty.

£11 for a vegan burger....

I've tried one recently (not TGI's) and the texture is ruddy awful.

Probably not frown

It was compensation after a failed attempt to dine at a place in Wakefield called "Jacobs" - they seem to be getting decent reviews but sadly had decided to put a sign on the door to say they were closed despite saying otherwise on their Facebook page.

Looks like a Five Guys rip off but without the ambience of a public toilet.

Looks alright, does that smile Cheap, nice menu range etc etc

When you say "without the ambience of a public toilet" surely that's a good thing.....? biggrin

I’ll bite. Honestly I don’t even know why you would bother with a vegan burger anyway. If I was vegan I think I would mostly eat Middle Eastern food. Why on earth you would bother going to eat some st version of something meat based is beyond me.

Definitely looks promising, I may revisit once I've calmed down.

And the ambience not being like a toilet is definitely a bonus, I don't like the Five Guys interiors in the slightest.

We tried to go to Holee Cow in Cheltenham yesterday. It was open, but after trying to find out where the menus were from the disinterested lady at the front of house (back of the place mats, semi-stuck to the table most unappetisingly) and ordering, they said their card machine was broken and didn't give me any useful directions to a cashpoint, so we didn't stay to eat.

Went to Five Guys instead, ordered pretty much the same thing and it was about a fiver less than it would have been at Holee Cow so, considering I think Five Guys is overpriced, Holee Cow is milking it somewhat (pun intended). The Five Guys burger was the nicest I've had from there, but the patties still seem underseasoned.

Breakfast was good, I haven't had a burger yet but a couple of people on PH locally have. I just thought I would add the prices as I thought it was relevant to the thread.

Stumbled across a Wimpy last night so decided to give them a try to see if the old guard can teach the newbies anything.

Was more of a "fast food" burger experience than a "gourmet" offering, but still I was pleasantly surprised how good it was.

There's a vast menu, but I think the one I went for was a double Wimpy burger (but not as big as a halfpounder). Came with salad and cheese and pretty decent burger sauce in the bun, and an absolute mountain of fries. Couldn't eat them all.

Quite possibly the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in as well, there was a guy who just never stopped mopping the place or polishing tables.

Only minor fault was that I had to have Pepsi, which generally makes me ill, rather than proper Coke frown

Went to both Honest Burger in Ealing and Cut and Grind at Boxpark, Wembley this week.

Cut & Grind was amazing, went for a double with bacon. Honest Burger was average at best.

£16 for a double Bristol in Honest Burger. I still can't deal with paper straws. Strong cheese and some crispy bits inside along with bacon and two pink patties. That should keep me full for the rest of the day. lick

Wimpy!! Man I loved that place. Not seen one in 25 years. I fear I'll be disappointed as my memory of one is amazing. Similar to finally rewatching The Guyver, thought it was the greatest movie ever, until I finally watched it as an adult 20 odd years later Haha.

I'm off to find a wimpy!

I work maybe 500m from the one here but I haven't been yet. Gets strong reviews.
