Just to put closure to this we went ti Hawksmoor Seven Dials yesterday and it was fantastic, went for Bone Marrow and onions to start which was great, then a huge Steak with the Sunday roast trimmings, and beef fat triple cooked chips. It was delicious, service was friendly and attentive, well worth the wait.

Oh and to whoever suggested the 'Shaky Pete's Ginger brew' I must say thank you, what a drink, can not think of anything that would hit the spot better in the roasting temperatures of the weekend smile

We were lucky with our food choices as a whole had the best eggs and bacon I have ever had out near Victoria on Sat morn and a cracking burger at a pub out in Spitalfields.

Glad you enjoyed it - this offer has just popped up on my American Express:

HAWKSMOOR GUILDHALL
Spend £100 or more, get £20 back

That is Thursday lunch sorted!

Sounds like you nailed the food choices all weekend - nice work.

And you're very welcome on Shaky Pete's Ginger Brew beer

Thanks _Neal_ it is a lovely drink, so refreshing beer
The server actually printed out the recipe/mix for us so we can attempt to make our own which was a nice touch!
If anyone needs a nice brunch or the aforementioned fabulous bacon and eggs then this is where we tried and it was great-

Enjoy beer
I will have to order the beer as nowhere up here stocks it, so a few days before I can make any! I have just found a link to the tankards they use so going to get them ordered as well smile

Great stuff, and superb to have the recipe, thanks! I've actually just ordered some US-style "trigger" beer mugs, entirely coincidently, but it would be a shame not to make some ginger brew in one once they arrive...

I love the air street one. Art Deco. Lovely environment.

The 7dials is ok but it always feels really noisy in there.
It's a 230 cover monstrosity. If you like overpriced food factories then I suppose it's ok.

And don't get me started on the waiting staff. They must be on commission as I've never had such hard sell in my life.

My only annoyance with it is the time it takes to walk to the toilet, other than that, as long as they can service properly I can't see the issue with a large dining room IMO, its always fairly busy so doesn't feel empty like MASH.

No. It was Swiss Cottage next. How you got the wrong completely escapes me. ;-)

Got my mother coming back to London, and the girlfriend couldn't make it to Hawksmoor Sevendials with us last time, so booked Air Street for next weekend.

Hope it delivers like Sevendials did!

If you like Hawksmoor, next time you are in London try Blacklock in Soho. Equally fantastic food, a lot smaller, a lot more relaxed, cocktails for a fiver, great 80's/90's music and my favourite place to eat in London.

Not even in the same league though is it. Cheap meat cuts, and they look and taste it, pants service, grim little underground dining room, and that cheesecake, while tasty, isn't a patch on half of the desert menu at Hawksmoor.
