You're not! Joking aside, we had a great meal there, although a few years ago now.
Steak wise, I've really enjoyed both Barbecoa and Goodman's in the past:

With London Bridge so close to Bank and the businesses round there, you really should be spoiled for choice, but not on a weekend. There are some great options in Borough Market if it's open when you're going, you could just sample loads of bits and bobs there?
Coq darArgent is pretty good, 5 min walk from the N side just off the Bank junction. Gardens/terraces are good too if the weather's nice

Restaurant Story - horrible website so here's a review instead https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/may/...
Insanely expensive. Insanely good. Possibly the best meal I've ever eaten. And yes, it's a tasting menu.

He seems to be the definition of marmite in the industry, his new place "Ours" has got some salivating and some laughing at him.

A little bit further in to the city, but well worth the walk

Smiths = good. 30min walk from the South side of Lon. Br though.
Pont = was OK 16yrs ago but I always preferred the Chop House next door (lived above them for a couple of years - enjoyed the Bengal Clipper for a fish curry too many times).
CdA = better for drinks than food IMO (as long as you're not feeling depressed)
Goodmans = top notch (I prefer it to Hawksmoor just about. But the latter's good too)
Roast = slightly better than average. Wouldn't be upset if I never ate there again
Taz = more low rent decor wise but great food
Aqua (Shard) = worth it for a one time only
Tapas Brindisa = lovely tapas but can be a ball ache getting a table
Or just go and have too many Harvey's Sussex Best in the Market Porter and nip into the market for a variety of snacks (the empanada stall opposite is very good).

Black & Blue in Borough Market if you like your steaks.

The only problem with that option Murph is that it would probably necessitate a visit to the foulest smelling toilets on the planet in the Porter's basement Edited by stemll on Friday 23 June 00:06

The trick is not to break the seal until you're at the point where you don't care (tbh I've never found it that bad. It's still one of my favourite pubs in London. Ref Black and Blue... I've eaten there twice and thought it was OK but no more than that. I'd rather drop more money on Hawksmoor or Goodmans.
Though after a session in the MP the difference is somewhat less relevant!

Fenchurch at the top of the Walkie Talkie is less of a grockle magnet than much of the fayre in SE1. Have a sherry at Jose first before the stroll over
