As some of you aren't facebook thought i would share the meet on here.

As some of you maybe aware the last Australian Holden will be coming of the production lines on Friday 20th October, To commemorate this occasion i am holding a meet at Vauxhall Heritage centre.
Vauxhall Heritage Centre have been kind enough to open up and to give HSV & Holden owner UK a tour around from 10am to 12pm.

People wishing to stay over night the Premier Inn Luton Airport is 3 minutes away and £40 for Thursday night.(some of us are staying 2 nights)

Vauxhall Heritage Centre
Griffin House,
Osborne Rd,
Luton
LU1 3YT

Meeting up in the car park will start from 9am

Thanks

Robert

Top bloke for sorting this. I'm really glad I took the time out to be part of it. Some nice thunder in the car park. Downer for me was only 2 VTs made it. So sorry for the workers in Australia today. Paul, GTS number 3😢

Yes, I'd like to echo the thanks.

I was unsure when the meet was first suggested but booked the day off from work as the journey would be small beer to mark the closing of the factory compared to those losing their jobs.

Let's hope that now the closure has happened, the parts inventory can get back up where it should be, rather than the stock regularly walking out of the gate. How many engines did the factory lose? redface

+1
Well said Sir.
I came straight from a night shift as I couldn't get the day off but if you're driving one, you just had to be there.
Only thing missing was a few slabs of ice-cold VB wink

Being Aussie born, it's a particularly sad day for me and even more so for those in Aus now sadly without a job weeping

Round trip from Aberdeen was well worth it, lots of very nice cars on the go, my personal favourite ....the Blue 430KW Gen-F Maloo. The brand spanking new Spitfire green GTSR looked pretty awesome too. Just a pity after Robert going to the trouble of organizing the Vauxhall people didn't show any interest that I saw. The guys at the Heritage Museum however were 1st class. On the way home on Saturday spotted a yellow E3 GTS Maloo on the A1M heading south, anyone on here?, a rare spot indeed.

It's a necessary evil now, especially as there is no Holden/HSV forum on the interwebs.

Er, isn't this the Holden/HSV forum???

Another none-bookface member here. I closed my FB account last year, nothing but hot air on there!

I’m very tempted to join FB just for the monaro/holden content but at least On here I don’t get a friend request from my ex wife’s, best mates mum. Or that girl I fancied in high school just because 20 years later I’m finally better looking than she is! You know the ones......

and then getting badgered every day to install facebook messenger so that you can receive messages to your phone from people you never gave your mobile number to in the first place. If someone doesn't have my mobile number, there is a good reason for that!

Anyway, very off topic - I'll shut up now soapbox

Sign up as 91964. I used to be Slow Araf on there, before I changed to my proper name.
