Finally logged in then I'm pretty sure I added a Houx campsite ticket to my basket (only 2 left when I got to the page) but on check out I find I have bought a Garage Vert campsite ticket. I guess they are not the same campsite? Anybody know this site?

Defo not the same sites!

I think this shows you what you need to know.. http://speedchills.com/le-mans-24-hours/on-circuit...

Vert seems to be the other side of Houx Annexe, from Houx. I don't know much about Vert - one of the only campsites I haven't ever been in. Vert seems to only indicate WCs and tents, no showers indicated...

The only real reason for getting in Houx is for power hook up for camper vans, etc..

ETA : once you've clicked on the link above you may need to click on the tab named Map, that should show you Vert, HA and Houx at about '11 oclock' and in lime green on the map.

Indeed a very nice site, pretty central, closer to the action than Houx, with (relatively) quiet campers, and as said, power all over the site. Best bring plenty of cable though.

Only downside, there's a general entrance point located on site, so security is non-existant, and visitors pass through it. So lock up all your valuables in your car, and you should be fine.

In case you can't change to Houx, you won't regret your stay at Garage Vert.

Vert is ok, but as said security not it's strong point, however as it is outside the general enclosure no problem with bringing bottles onto the site unlike those within the GE area

Ehm, it's INSIDE the general enclosure. Like I said, an entrance point for the general public is literally on site.

Garage Vert has two entrances, one for cars, and one for pedestrians, and are about 300 metres apart. Even after literally passing the car entrance 10+ times, so the guards must have known me by then, the time I tried to enter there by bike, the French bureaucratic red-tape lovers made me use the General Entrance used by the pedestrians who arrived at the circuit using the (very highly recommended!!!) tramway. (Why they exited the tram on the terminus instead of the one stop before that beats me) During the week it's OK, but during raceweekend it was pretty crowded on the paths leading from the general entrance towards the inside of Tertre Rouge corner and the village.

I have stayed on both .
Garage Vert , its my choice over Houx every time ,its right on the entrance and has a shuttle train .great transport ,less walking .its in the circuit so you don't have all the hassle looking of bag searches
you can be at porches curves in 15 minutes on the shuttle trains .
we are there again next year .

Garage Vert is fine, good access to tertre rouge corner one way and the village the other. We’re there every year. Get there early and with plenty of cable for electric hook up.

If you don't want the GV pass I will happily take it off your hands! Houx is still available. For some reason we have been unable to get enough camping passes for our group and now find ourselves in a bit of a predicament.
