Moving on from the sushi lunch thread a very hot chilli cheese omelette

After taking this pic and watching some Formula 1 free practice I returned to find the cheese had all gone missing scratchchin

Lets play Cluedo, my guess first --

The dog with his mouth in the kitchen.

Picture of the suspect who does not look like anyone out of the popular sitcom Friends.

Luckily he did not involve a chase or I would never have caught him.

Looking good

Quite toasty, some paper lanterns in there which are hot.

Now about to do southern style deep fried chicken for supper.

That was part of a batch of 5 chickens I bought for £1.20 from Tescos at their sell by date and thighs down to 90p.

God bless my duvet for later when it all works through the system.

Have you tried soaking your chicken in buttermilk over night before you coat them?

Picked up a reduced (but still rather expensive) Tesco Finest Sirloin the other day. Cooked in a griddle pan on the hob then rested for a bit. Was most certainly rare but tasted absolutely beautiful, and there were no cold areas, which is something I'm not a fan of with steak, despite enjoying it rare.

Roasted tomatoes were also great, although I got impatient and the chips ended up undercooked which let things down a little. Still hands down the best steak I've had outside of a restaurant!

The thought of a roast used to leave me cold but I have become rather fond of them of late. Lovely.

We have started having roasts regularly again at weekends. Pot roasting a nice chicken or pheasant is perfect.

Looks great.

And an old favourite of mine, home made spiced chilli beef burger. Fried, then topped with lettuce, tomato and grated cheese, then grilled in a tortilla wrap, served with fries, and lettuce, red pepper and tomato salad with French dressing.

Honesty, there is a yummy burger hidden in there!
