My OH needs to source 123 bottles of wine split between red and white and with a budget of £6-8 per bottle, all by next Monday. Where would be a good place to buy them from to be delivered?

That only applies to green bottles... Also we’re a long way from France here!

Thanks for the suggestion, Hosenbugler thumbup

Order 11 cases from Tesco and take the spare 9 bottles home after?

Majestic it is then. Wont be brilliant quality, at that price range, but she can taste them beforehand, and they will carry it to her car.

For £6-8 per bottle, you'll get some quaffable wine.

Supermarkets would be a good choice, and don't dismiss Aldi/Lidl etc if you've got time to taste test some, they have some nice wine. They'll also do returns of unopened cases if you don't use them.

Majestic wine will be able to help but you'd be looking at minimum £7 per bottle.

Can I ask how you've come to the 123 bottles? With quite a lot of experience in catering and events, I've learnt you may not need as much as you think!

cbmotorsport - it’s a bottle for each person in her department as a thank you

kellysprint - thanks for the message but she’s already ordered from The Wine Society as the timing was critical

Cheers again to Hosenbugler

!
I think you can do better.

I bought Champagne for my wedding, and as it was 96 bottles I did some research. A lot of research.

Best deal, once I'd priced in channel tunnel, petrol etc etc, was my local Majestic in Leeds, because I was able to go in and negotiate with the manager on the cost. Proper negotiation.

We got down to about £14.50 for NV Lanson, if I remember correctly, and he (obviously) delivered it for free too.

So my advice is go to Majestic, try some wine (they love opening stuff if you are serious) then for 123 bottles put your Serious Negotiating Face on.

Over a grand on Champers for 1 day?? Nuts, but no wonder he was prepared to negotiate.
