Thanks, watched Game Changers on Netflix, and it's very interesting, just need that kick to make the shift. Need to find meals that I can rely on, and want to go back to.
concentrate on getting quality food and then recipes will come - highly recommend a riverford organic veg box then you can make stir fries etc depending on whats in the boxEarlOfHazard said:
Inspired by The Gamechangers, I ventured down to Dirty Vegans down in Bournemouth. Tried their foot long chilli dog and garlic fries, was not disappointed !
I'm just back from the USA and tried the Impossible Burger at The Cheesecake Factory - wow, really impressed.
The closest veggie burger (it isn't officially classed as vegan as to gain approval in US it had to be tested on animals) I've had in taste, texture and appearance to beef. I devoured it in no time, and felt a bit strange as I've not eaten meat in over a year and felt like I just had!
I'm sure it's not healthy but as an occasional treat to satisfy cravings it really hits the spot. Hopefully will make it's way to the UK at some point.

nom nom nomJust started rolling out in the States.
And keep an eye out for the new improved-recipe Beyond Burgers (Tesco deffo sell the originals). You can spot them by the white fatty blobs in the burger (prob coconut oil). I thought these were better than the originals, but agreed, Impossible are the most authentic

Being pedantic, but this isn't quite right. It's not considered vegan (by many, including myself) because it was tested on animals when it didn't have to be. They did it for extra FDA certification, but it didn't preclude them from selling it in either restaurants or grocery stores.Bussolini said:
I'm not remotely a vegan but did have a vegan pizza today: The White Rabbit - Smokey Vegan. It was tasty enough, but the base was a bit soft and gloopy - this may be because it was also gluten free. Healthier than a normal pizza though!
I tried one of these when I was a veggie, from opening the packet and being greeted by the horrible fake smoke smell and the absolute vile smell it made when cooking, to removing from the oven and it being a soggy, smelly horrible mess, i took one bite and threw the entire thing away. Nasty. I never ever waste food.tbh if i was vegan and I wanted a pizza it would be no cheese. Vegan cheese is cancer.
ETA bosh is indeed a good vegan cookbook range if your interested I have one and I like the seaside pie in it which I've made a few times. You'll need nutrional yeast though, its used in most things with a cheese flavour. Either that or just stay a veggie and eat real cheese.

Out of office this week, which means many trips to Tesco/Co-op for meal deals to cover me for lunch. Well Tesco (specifically metro) really do have a lot to do even just for vegetarian options, as it's pretty crap having (maybe) one pasta option and one sandwich option.
At least the hotel has an entire vegetarian section with some good options.

There are some ok vegan cheeses, most of those pre made pizzas are rank though.
Anyone in Glasgow, I'd recommend Baked Pizza al Taglio opposite the tennants brewery. All round excellent Roman style pizza with amazing vegan options.
Yep, went there last Saturday and had my usual, slice of the arrabiata and slice of onion and parsley, both with the vegan cheese. Anyone in Glasgow, I'd recommend Baked Pizza al Taglio opposite the tennants brewery. All round excellent Roman style pizza with amazing vegan options.
Not as good as previous visits as the young guy serving drizzled way too much olive oil on without even asking if I wanted any, I'll be sure to ask without in future.

There's a vegan hot dog place opening in Dennistoun this week. It's run by the people who run the In Bloom cafe so hopefully it'll be decent.

Yeah, I got 250 for Xmas lunch this year, me and one other in the kitchen so I need to have everything but the veg and potatoes cooked in advance.
Vegan nut loaf with red wine and mushroom sauce. Can be prepared ahead. Onion puree flavoured with balsamic. All your vegetables roasted or steamed on the side.
