Name that snack
Discussion
We're eating some Quavers and I suddenly remembered a snack from the seventies that you could buy from country fairs etc
They were like a small orange plastic square that you dropped in hot oil and they puffed up almost instantly.
Mum *always* had to buy some on pain of a severe nagging...
They were so much tastier than they sound, but what on earth were they called???

They sound like a different shaped version of the crispy noodles you used to get with Vesta ready meals.
I think something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Drago-Rice-Sticks-Pac...
...deep fried.
(NB Used to love these as a kid...but have not tried the above or anything similar so may not be right )
