Mea Culpa, but you knew what I meant!
...and you were right about it needing time
Yep - thanks for the tip...and you were right about it needing time
I'll be checking out the loca Aldis today. I live in West Yorkshire so it either means they haven't stocked any or there'll be loads left
Sadly, there is no more Sancerre left

Opened the Pomerol last night - decanted and let it air for a few hours.
What a classy wine, though I reckon it needs a bit more aging. I'm going to trawl my local Aldis today to see if I can gather a few more up to lay down.
As others have observed if 19 Crimes / Australian Shiraz floats your boat this is not for you but at the price point its a genuine steal.
I bought 12 of the Aldi 2018 Amarone earlier this year to lay down (though drinking well now) and a few of these will be joining them.
2016 is a very decent year for Pomerol, so to get some for a tenner is brilliant. Will obviously benefit from some laying down, but I think some of the 15's and 16's are drinking incredibly well at present. What a classy wine, though I reckon it needs a bit more aging. That Pomerol sounds like a nice wine and a great price. Another great value for wine is this if you can find it over in the UK.

It retails for €10 over here in the Netherlands, so would imagine that it would be similarly priced or even less in the UK.
It is a really good wine and tastes like it should be two or even three times the price. It also has an average rating of 4.3 on Vivino which is very impressive for a wine of that price and I concur with this. In fact I think that I rated it 4.5 myself. I'm no wine expert, but just know that I really liked this wine, especially as I say for a tenner, then you can't go wrong. It is very fruity and fairly full bodied, but still with a decent amount of depth to it. I usually drink natural wines, but good luck getting a decent one of them for a tenner.

Had a bottle of the Aldi Pomerol tonight. Bottle is very weighty - they are no fools on marketing
Very well made wine. Disguises its considerable alcohol quite well.
It's quite soft, open and approachable. Tastes older than it should do (? storage issues responsible for low price)
It has the whiff of almond/marzipan that I love in good merlots. Looking forward to the next 17 bottles.

Well the 19 Crimes was quite nice. I did scan the QR code and the criminal on the bottles label starts talking to you about the crime he committed, which is clever.
I’ve got through many bottles of 19 Crimes over the last couple of years and I never noticed the QR code. Giv s me an excuse to buy some more. This and Apothicab are my go to reds at the moment.

Interesting comments. You obviously know your fine wines - do you think it has ageing potential or should it be drunk sooner rather than later?Very well made wine. Disguises its considerable alcohol quite well.
