Decent white wine for a tenner? (Better than Daybreak SB)

Other to look for, Gavi, Picpoul. A vinho verde is nice on a hot summers day as it's slightly sparkling. All of those should be available for around 10
See my post above. It seems we have very similar taste in cheap white.I'd much rather spend a little more on a Sancerre or a Pouilly-Fume, but there's plenty of interesting stuff out there for less than a tenner.

Co-Op Gavi at £8 is great, and Tesco Picpoul is about the same. Both lovely.
Just sneaks in at £10 if you buy a mixed case of a dozen:

A truly elegant SB by one of Sancerre's leading makers, only they can't call it Sancerre as the grapes come from a wider area.
Be quick.

I find New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough to very reliable and decent value
I’d echo this. They have a pretty unique flavour completely different to French or South African Sauvignon Blanc and on the whole tend to be pretty consistent. Most of the supermarkets have good selections. I buy whatever is on offer usually but Villa Maria, Mud House and Brancott are all mainstream brands. If you want to try something a bit different, I like a Vihno Verde, a Portuguese wine (think it translates to Green Wine). It’s semi sparkling, not like Prosecco, it’s less fizzy and less acidic. Very light and very refreshing in my view.
Hope that helps!

Inspired by the similarly titled red wine thread. I drink red but like a nice cold glass of white when it’s warm; frankly I know even less about this than I do red. I’ve only alluded to Daybreak as it’s on the go at the moment, I don’t think it will reappear. Are the whites from the red makers I like such as Casillero Diablo worth a punt? What’s everyone’s go to?
Stellenrust Chenin Blanc from Sainsbury's for 8 quid. The more expensive version has less sulphites but Sainsbury's stopped doing it. If you can survive the sulphites then it's a greatly quaffable.

This is almost exclusively the only white wine I drink now. My personal favorite is Villa Marea New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, second is Wairau Cove and there are a couple of others I'll need to sift through photos to pinpoint.I did a wine tasting tour in October 2019 of Waiheke Island, not educated and I lack the appropriate parlance to describe wines correctly but Chardonnay and Viognier were ok but the Sauvignon really stood out. Villa Marea is produced a just south of Auckland and it is the bomb (wine parlance)
This is our default quaffing white for parties etc

My mum loves Villa Maria. I usually pick some up for her, but I asked my local wineshop for recommendations for somebody that likes Villa Maria SV but up to, say, £20 a bottle. They recommended Greywacke and she absolutely loves it.I did a wine tasting tour in October 2019 of Waiheke Island, not educated and I lack the appropriate parlance to describe wines correctly but Chardonnay and Viognier were ok but the Sauvignon really stood out. I used to go for the New Zealand, Australian or Chilean Sauvignon Blancs, either the brands mentioned above (Mud House, Wairu Cove, Villa Maria) or the supermarket own brand 'finest' option.
Quite often you'll find there are several of these next to each other, in the same botttle with different label of course, similar description, same alcohol content, same importer on the label, taste very similar...so I just picked whichever was on offer as the supermarkets just roll from one to the other.
However, have recently moved to the European options - Gavi, Picpoul, French Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and enjoying working my way through them
Now when I go back to the Southern hemisphere Sauvignon Blancs they all taste a bit sharp and harsh by comparison.

Got a cloudy bay to drink this weekend never had it before and it's the most I've ever paid not in a restaurant
As said a picpoul, sancerre or gavi is nice.
A pinot grigio is always acceptable.
The best New Zealand savjgions come from the town of Nelson.
This is a very nice quaffable midweek bottle.

Definitely suggest you try that as a step up from the generic £10 bottles you see in the supermarket.
(Can’t help with the op question other than Villa Maria should hit the brief)
