Sausages were better cooked than they looked. I am now incredibly full.

Surely the one on the right is disqualified as the cheese is too posh?

It’s an illusion with the photo. It looks like the photos been edited so the shadows are all wrong. Makes it look like the plate is upside down.

This is an other

I hardly ever get gammon so cant ever remember which is the best cut to get? for just yourself? such as for a lunch.
The 2xmini round ones?(250g) the larger round ones? (750g) or the steaks? (which annoyingly come in a packet of 2, but are around the same in weight as a large steak)

750g is best. Rind is good if your going to do a roast first.
Less rind if its just for sandwiches.
Immerse it in water for a few hours or overnight to leech out the salt.
Makes for better sandwich ham.
Dry off and cook gammon as normal.
Carve thinly and bag up in useable amounts.
Freeze the rest.

I don't want anything for a long roast. Just something as a quickish alternative to a (beef) steak. Didn't want to ask in the steak thread, felt more suited to ask about gammon on this thread.

Tuesday night dinner. Leftover from Saturday night, a couple of slices of donner pizza, leftover cauliflower cheese from Sunday along with a few onion rings. A bottle of pinot noir to lubricate.
Delicious.

30s in the microwave will liven it right up.

(Although I suspect a 'donner pizza' was no epicurean delight to start with)

Actually it was very moist including the crust. It’s the reheating skills that make the difference. Cooked the rings in the air fryer then a couple of minutes before they were ready I put the pieces of pizza on top of the rings. A bit of moisture help keep the base moist whilst quickly heating through.

Looks like dominos, so perhaps no real food to 'go off' in it anyway. Like the Macca's that's not decayed in a decade!

Mmmm now I want pizza

Some nice looking strips of kebab meat on that slice

A splash of hot sauce over the lot and I'd be happy with that for tea
