oh, good choice.

/heads for the lagavluin.

btw i was given some "whisky rocks" at the weekend. Canadian soapstone blocks which you chill in the freezer. They cool a drink without diluting or affecting the flavour.

Doesn't chilling the whisky still numb your palate? Or is it just a fairly slight cooling effect?

Enjoy your Lag'a'Mhuillin wink

Fook the Whisky Exchange. Get yourself to Milroy's on Greek Street. Phil is a genius.

Hotel bar prices too eek How about £9 for a double Glenmorangie?

I'll see your £9 for a double and raise you for £9 for a single Laphroaig at a restaurant in NZ. The wife forced me to have one. smile

That is a lot. Mind you, I was in a bar in Aberdeen a few months ago and a mate ordered a Macallan Fine Oak 15 (on my recommendation). I was paying and didn't realise what they were charging, that was £9!

No way is that a £9 dram, it's £50/bottle in the shops (£40+vat in makro).

Anyway, I had a Glenfiddich Caoran reserve last night and didn't enjoy it much...

I've always like the shape of the original Balvenie (wine shaped bottle) that and the original Highland Park bottle with the map of the Orkney's in the base of the bottle. I see both are available at the auction.
