Doesn't salt break up the egg white? I thought that was a big no-no.
I always just poach in lightly simmering water with a splash of vinegar in. They always turn out fine.
Yep, dont use salt.I always just poach in lightly simmering water with a splash of vinegar in. They always turn out fine.
The thing about eggs is that the proteins in the white break down over time. Break a freshly laid egg onto a plate and it’ll sit up in a gloopy white; break an old egg onto a plate and you’ll see it run out sideways. Hence fresh eggs are much easy to poach.
Anyway, today’s effort from Hilton The Hague, surprisingly good scrambled eggs (and massively salty veal sausages)

A great deal of catering scrambled egg - certainly at the budget end of things - is made from powdered egg rather than fresh. It works surprisingly well, and most people probably couldn't tell the difference. Anyway, today’s effort from Hilton The Hague, surprisingly good scrambled eggs (and massively salty veal sausages)

Same place as two weeks ago - Old School Café. I didn't pay as it was part of their apology but I think this was £7 on the menu. The bubble and squeak was not what I expected but I wasn't complaining. The bacon was good and thick
I'd prefer nice bread as toast, and maybe a second egg, but that looks spot-on.SpeckledJim said:

I’d second that. Everything looks great. Just some beans and/or toms to provide a bit of lube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swJFOE49LRQ
I do like a grilled tomato on a breakfast and even some baked beans, within moderation and not making the bacon go limp of course. Perhaps use the sausages like a Thames Barrier against that?
But hash browns ?
No.
No.
No, a full English does not have any hash browns from our colonies over seas to the West .....
I'd rather cook my mother in law and put her on the plate.
