Just a grilling burgers/sausages/chicken on skewers BBQ this weekend, was pretty pleased with how the burgers turned out.

Tried the "restaurant" charcoal from B&Q, it seemed to get really hot really quickly, then died out before I had finished cooking everything. Also, some of the lumps were huge - will have to try smashing them up a bit!

I had the opposite issue - bought some lumpwood stuff from B&Q and most of it was that small that it feel through the bottom of the chimney starter.

Burnt quickly and very easy to light though

Yeah I've had similar, really tiny bits and was no good.

I opened a bag of Big K premium lumpwood yesterday and it was brilliant. Nice big chunks and stayed hot for a really long time.

Is that a Weber rotisserie attachment? I have one with just the two prongs each side which is fine for full joints or a whole chicken- just can see that one you are using.
L
It’s actually a kebab skewer attachment that goes on the rotisserie bar, made by napoleon, although Weber probably make the same thing, just 4 times the cost! Lol

Got one of these but never know quite what to do on it.

Love the outdoor cooking , more so this time of year , have a Weber Genesis and the Weber Smokey Mountain which are both superb . Picked up a small tubular pellet smoker that sits at the back of the bbq today , should be good for wings chops fish and cold smoked cheeses . $45 plus various flavoured pellets . Lasts for 4 hrs each time , watch this space .

BBQ roast potatoes with rosemary and garlic, and some salmon with a dry rub.

Potatoes took quite a long time but was so worth it.

Neil rankin low and slow book.

Pretty much exactly that recipe just done on the Weber. 90% indirect and 10% direct to finish them off.

Small ceramic BBQ (30cm) on sale at Lidl currently. £80.
It is small, but for 2 people, or a little cook for a steak or a couple of burgers it'd be ideal.
I've not had a ceramic before but the BBQ pages say it's decent & it'll be useful for us sitting outside in the evening, rather than lighting the Oklahoma Joe.

Looks like it'd be a good slow cooker. I am now trying to find my nearest Lidl so it can sit next to my 2 webbers...

I've got:

1 x Oklahoma Joe BBQ/Smoker
1 x GMG Davy Crockett pellet smoker
1 x GMG Daniel Boone pellet smoker
1 x big stainless steel gas grill
1 x Roccbox

Don't worry, i definitely don't 'need' another one, but i do need one.

A Uuni will be bought soon too. I've wanted a ceramic for a while to slow cook on. Not sure why I can't use the webbers, but I just bloody can't alright!

Cooked some ribs today.

After a few hours

This is after 3 hours smoking and 2 hours wrapped... on with some homemade bbq sauce.

Done

Not too soft... perfect amount of tenderness.
