I went to see Pete Tong Ibiza Classics with the Heritage Orchestra on Wednesday and it has well and truly reignited my love for trance.

As a result I went digging through the ol CD collection and have spent the last 8 hours at work blaring Trance Nation / Ministry of Sound compilations flat out & now feel ready for a fat rave tongue outarty

Back home now where it's clearly too early to be cranking up the stereo.... booooooooooooooooooooooo
I watched the O2 show online, having been the last 2 years, and it was a very similar set to the previous ones. Its a great performance but tickets aren't cheap and to keep people coming back Pete needs to present something fresh.

Anyway, for me, my nights have been spent with High Contrast sets in the background. Nothing like a bit of DnB to keep you awake at 4am. This has got stuck in my head on repeat;

High Contrast - Questions (ft Boy Matthews)

And this... with one of the best lyrics I've heard in a while. 'We first met over a shared view, she loved me and I did too' rofl

The Streets - Too Late (High Contrast mix)

Gary Barlow on Desert Island Discs. One of his choices was 'Nimrod' by Edward Elgar. He said that it taught him that great songs and music are very simple in construction.

Berserker by Beast in Black. They supported Nightwish last night at Wembley (who were epic btw) and they didn't seem half bad. Well worth trying if you like a modern take on classic hair metal.

Heaven up Here, Echo and the Bunnymen

Takes me back to July 1983, up to Scotland to see them on the Isle Of Skye, then two weeks later at the Royal Albert Hall in London

This is the one for the trees
This is the one called Heaven
And this is the one for me"

When I had my first bedsit (cue Softcell-bedsit land), one wall was completely covered with that album cover. I had about twenty empty sleeves given to me by the local record shop, the record companies supplied them to the shops for promotion and they used to chuck them every couple of weeks when something new was released.

The only vinyl album I ever bought twice because I wore out the first one. Iconic cover too. I saw them at St George's Hall in Blackburn as a 16-yr old and was completely blown away. It got even better when we were waiting for our lift home and one of the staff asked us if we wanted to meet Mac & co up in the bar. Pete deF was a top bloke, gutted when he died.

One of my favourite albums of all times, i still listen to it regularly. I remember seeing them live when I was 15 and Over The Wall was immense. I also have an extended live version of "All My Colours" which is great, along with some limited release vinyl. (I was a major Echo and the Bunnymen fan). I saw them live this year, they were still good, but McCulloch has lost some of the strength and clarity in his voice, howver, unlike back in the day he didn't appear to be stoned on stage.

To add another quote

"It may be hell down there but its Heaven up here"

I’ve had that new album on repeat for a week. Mrs Beano came along and told me I was listening to LZ!

Tonight, I am commuting to mostly The Doors....
