I've just left the Kings Arms in Tooley St. There's a guy in there with a pair of old-school turntables playing everything from Maceo & The Macks to Mark Ronson via Howard Jones and Depeche Mode. Absolute quality, this could be my new favourite London boozer.

The theme song to Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

A mate of mine is out of work, has spent his entire 25 year career working in offices. I have managed to secure him a couple of months labouring outdoors for another mate who runs a building company.

Cue far too many pub jokes about "working on site from morning till night, that's Livin' Alright!"

I'm a big AC/DC fan, and have been listening even more than usual following the sad news at the weekend.
