The live show they did for the BBC where they played the full length of Seldom Seen Kid with the BBC orchestra is my most played music DVD.
That DVD makes me feel like I'm going to burst with joy every time I watch it.
It really is that beautiful.

Those of you who think Elbow are too agreeable/mainstream, Have a look at 'I Am Kloot'- a much more distinctive and gritty vocal by manchunian John Bramwell, with a much darker vibe to the music. The connection is that this band is produced by Guy Garvey, and Guy himself has admitted he thought 'I Am Kloot' was the band which would reach popularity rather than Elbow.

Dreary. Sum up UK 'rock', and perhaps says something about modern culture that they are so popular.

The new 'Elbow' thread prompted me to revive this one. I saw I Am Kloot last week in a small venue and they played a great set, lots of stuff from their upcoming album which sounds great. Bits of it were rough round the edges but it was billed as a preview gig.
Here's their new single

By the way M4FFU, I hadn't seen that vid before, really enjoyed it. Would love to see Kloot/Garvey collaborating live.

as for Garvey not having a very good voice? I always thought it was excellent.
whether you like the band or not, the lead singer has an incredible voice and great range
