Many great intros posted, but the greatest is Heard it Through the Grapevine Marvin Gaye.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hajBdDM2qdg

The riff, the drums, the horns... and when his voice comes in...

Goosebumps every time.

Time for a bit of funk:

Rainbow Brown - Till You Surrender

The intro just builds up brilliantly and makes me think I'm back in GTA cool
Actually I take back my later suggestions, it's still this one wink

Heretic, I know, but I actually prefer the version by The Slits, I know I shouldn't, but I do..

I love the CCR version, sounds like the jam went on for hours after the fade.

I think I have THE winner;

Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode
Good point.
Winner! I think we need to close the thread nowsmile
This can be the only winner---even though he got it from T-Bone Walker.

Just tidied up the spelling a bit for you guys.

Goode not Good.

Pet hate time. The thread is not winable, it's just a collection of favourites. Keep posting.

Not sure if anyone else shares my irrational love of Frankie Valli intros, but I submit two for your perusal.

The Night & Let's hang on - Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons

Also, Cannonball - The Breeders

Volcano - Damien Rice

Short skirt long jacket - Cake

Brown paper bag - Roni Size

There was another one I was just thinking of, but it has slipped my mind temporarily.

But that selection is probably eclectic enough for now.

I know, I just hate the term, it's intrinsic of everything that is wrong with people's attitudes today.

I'm here to share, create and build a better PH community and that doesn't require any winning, just contributing.

Like I say, pet hate. Keep the intros coming.

Nah, we're all powerfully built company directors. It's all about winning, hooo-hahhh!!!!

OT, I'll chip in with "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones (and Sympathy for the Devil, but I'm pretty sure someone did that already).
