"Zoo Station"'s pretty good, but one amongst many. Also like "Gimme Shelter" and "Solid Rock", Dire Straits. What's yours?

Might be the longest but still the best.

Also contains the 4 most evocative notes since Beethoven's 5th.

[pedant]The intro to Beethoven's 5th is only three notes[/pedant]

But yes , the intro to Shine On is epically epic

Follow Me Home - Dire Straits just randomly popped up on the iPod.
I like the way the intro leads you into the song in an ever so subtle manor.

U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name is also pretty good too.

...actually thinking about it, it's similar in construction to the Dire Straits one I posted in that the sound rises from almost nothing but blends seamlessly into the track.

yes

Anyone see the RAC advert that featured that? Unlike most such adverts, this one really lived up to the music.

Stones have had many good intros, Jumpin' Jack Flash and Honky Tonk Women are both worthy on mention in this thread.
