Absolutely brilliant gig at G-Live in Guildford last night.

They played a fantastic set covering quite a chronological range including Time, Us and Them and Great Gig in the Sky from Dark Side as well as Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun and Keep Talking.

At the start of Great Gig, my brother said 'it will be interesting so she how the backing singers cope with the female vocal section' Well all 3 of the singers did parts and they smashed the Clare Tory recorded version.
Other highlights included Comfortably Numb, Shine on You Crazy Diamond and Wish You Were Here.

I last saw Pink Floyd on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour and I saw Roger Waters do the Wall last year and the musicianship on display last night was on a par, if not better.

They have to be the best tribute band in the world - selling out the London O2 every time they play there says a lot.

Of course they are not the 'real deal' but they're not pretending to be.

I go quite a few concerts and this will take some beating for gig of the year.

The first, but certainly not the last time I see this band.

When I saw them in Birmingham 18 months ago, one of the backing singers had also toured with the real PF on MLOR tour and earlier tours as well, she was obviously more than upton the job.

But are they as good as Brit Floyd now that Damian has left Aussie Floyd?

I saw Brit Floyd last year and thought they were fantastic, although I've never seen Aussie Floyd live from all the videos I'v seen they don't sound as good as Brit Floyd plus the tickets are about double what I paid for BF last year.

I saw them about 10 years ago at the NEC and they were excellent, did several tracks from Animals has well which is my favourite PF album. Wasn't it Nick Mason who had them play at his birthday party?

Saw Think Floyd a while back too who were good but not on a par.

Aussie Floyd played at Dave Gilmour's 50th. Mate of mine was their drum tech for three years.

I'm going to see them in Birmingham on the 15th of March. My 5th time I think. The first was in the little Oakengates Theatre near Telford when they were barely known many years ago with a minimal light show.

A meal and beer beforehand, it should be a good evening smile

Holy thread resurrection.
Just got tickets for Aussie PF in Nottingham in November, my wife purchased them for a surprise.
Can't wait.
However £100+ a ticket is a bit of a shock.
Never mind eh.

Yes, I've seen them and they are very good. But they are not Gilmour, Waters, Mason etc (not that you'd be able to buy a ticket for them all together but anyway), and what they are charging now is a bit mad. They are doing loads of shows, all crammed together, must me making a fortune. You will have good seats, but it's a lot. People are paying though, so I guess they know their price.

It's a lot for a cover band. I've seen both the Aussie and Brit versions. Polished though they were, ersatz is ...um ersatz. Would I bother again? Nope.

Seen them several times in venues as diverse as Malta (Stadium gig in 2005 with 13,000) and Oswaldtwistle.

Latest was Manchester a few months back.

Also seen Darkside and the Floyd Effect.

They're brilliant, but £100 per ticket isn't normal going rate. We're seeing them in Reading on the same tour and our tickets are £45 each.

I'd also dispute that they aren't as good as the original (having seen both a number of times). On some songs, they're actually better and the lights, screen etc (and many of the crew) are ex Pink Floyd.

We've apparently got the good seats, peasant's seats are circa 50 quid.

laugh

You don't think there's a certain emotion or feeling missing? Y'know like when someone sings a song they've written about an experience they've lived. You think it could be better or as good by someone else...by a kind of proxy?? How?

Reminds me a bit of people recording gigs on their phones without actually living the real experience. Each to their own I guess.

I saw them at the O2 many years ago and they certainly didn't sell out. There were large areas of vacant seats, perhaps why they are not doing the O2 on this current tour.

I will say they were bloody good and the tickets were £45
