wish I was going...
talk about bad timing
Mrs Red is due to drop twins right on queue for their London dates !

Such a shame as we'd both be going.
Ah well....

Resurrecting an old thread after a quick search... Has anyone seen them on the new tour, or got any plans to catch them this year? I've toyed with the idea because, as this thread suggests, you never know who is going to turn up, however recent reports are that they'd pretty solid at the moment. Unfortunately, the UK dates clash with a certain 24 hour event, so I've taken the plunge and booked tickets for the Paris show in July. Be good to know if anyone's seen them recently.
A mate of mine saw them in Sydney a couple of weeks ago and said they were awesome. I'm hoping they bring that to their Europe gigs!

agreed, it was a toss up between flying to Dublin or Belfast as its almost half way between both, chose Dublin for a night out on the Friday tho! Really need to start looking into buses/ shuttles from Dublin out to the gig!

but I've seen GnR on the last couple of tours with the modern lineup, been to see slash/ velvet revolver/ slash + myles + the conspirators.... and have loved them all. they all still have it individually, they know how to put on a show. I have high hopes for the European tour, I've waited a long time to see (as close as possible to) the original line up!

I am seeing them in Dubai next Friday.

Last time I saw them was in 1992 at Wembley Stadium, Soundgarden and Faith No More supporting.

What a Brilliant day that was.

I've been dithering over this tour but just don't want to be a dissapointed with this sort of performance :

sad to say but i'd rather see myles kennedy fronting the band and actually not murdering the songs.

I was 6 rows from the front that day and yes it was a brilliant day.

I didn't book tickets for the Dubai gig as I was supposed to be in Bahrain racing, which has now been out back 1 week....

I did GnR last night in Dubai.

Fan pit, first row hanging onto the barrier right in front of the stage.

Absolutely F*ing amazing. No other words for it.

Still can't hear and have re-fallen in lust with Axl and Slash

Now toying with the idea of flying to San Antonio to see them on my birthday in September.

Dammit for cheap flights.

I wasn't far behind you!

Friday's show in Dubai exceeded all expectations. They still have the magic and Slash... Rock God.

For those going to see them, you're in for a real treat!

Good to hear the feedback from the Dubai visitors (thank you). I'd actually double booked myself for their Paris show, so those tickets are now up for sale (anyone, anyone...!?). As I can't make London, I've decided to try Lisbon. Tickets, flights and hotel purchased - Roll on June 2nd...

Saw them in Wellington NZ a month ago. There were some complaints about the sound early on but this is in a city that is famous for wind and a stadium that it swirls around in. They were absolutely incredible. They don't run around like they used to, there wasn't the snarling aggression they had in the early days, but they still nailed it. Great to hear stuff like Coma and Double Talkin Jive performed live, and they backed it up with all the hits, a few covers and a few solos. For me it was great to be able to share the experience with my 7 and 10yo kids and have them thinking it was the greatest thing ever. Which it was.

And Texas for their last show on the 8th September is booked.
Now I just have to wait till September, endure an 18 hour flight in Economy, plus a 2 hour drive and its GnfR's time

Totally worth it biggrin

Heading down from belfast myself. Good to hear the good reviews. Pity the weather is set to change considering its been scorching all week! Saw them 25 yrs ago at Slane when i was 17 and saw Axls reincarnation in belfast a few years back (who were far better than i expected tbf) but REALLY looking forward to tomorrow. Slane is the best place for a concert anywhere IMO

Enjoy. I'd love to have done Slane, I have the Chilis DVD from there, it looks a special place.

If you get a chance, go and annoy the tour truck drivers. biggrin
