Strange, as I've thought the last few gigs I've been to (different artist than you) were getting quieter, and wondered if someone somewhere had decided to drop the volume to save the audience or other random H&S-related thing. Like they used to black out the entire hall just before the intro music starts, where now the house lights are still on very dimly, lots of random lights around the stage presumably around trip hazards, all just a little bit less "special". I remember only a few years ago standing in front of either speaker stack and could feel the wind coming off the speakers when some of the drums kicked in.Took my daughter to Manic Street Preachers in June at Bristol. Never got into them myself but like a few of theirs and they were very good live. Taking her to Wolf Alice again in November and also managed to get tickets for one of their intimate gigs at tavistock wharf in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to that.
