Got tickets to Starsailor, London in October. Hopefully they'll be as good as they were 20yrs ago!

That's reassuring to hear. Thanks for the heads up!

Lived up to expectations. Good venue too, worth the drive down to London - Kentish Town Forum.
Must be getting old though 'cos it was LOUD!

Saw Dropkick Murphys in the same venue a couple of years ago - great place to see a band.

Got back from Latitude and have now booked Charles Bradley at the 02 Kentish Town and Mr Jukes in Birmingham (part of Bombay Cinema Club, doing his own thing).

Also booked Blondie at Brixton & Orbital at Hammersmith.

Hoosiers at Boileroom in Guildford in October?

Sold!

Although how they will sound in a venue about the size of my front room (OK, slight exaggeration, but it's TINY! I'm sure there are some here with larger front rooms!) will be interesting!

Strange, as I've thought the last few gigs I've been to (different artist than you) were getting quieter, and wondered if someone somewhere had decided to drop the volume to save the audience or other random H&S-related thing. Like they used to black out the entire hall just before the intro music starts, where now the house lights are still on very dimly, lots of random lights around the stage presumably around trip hazards, all just a little bit less "special". I remember only a few years ago standing in front of either speaker stack and could feel the wind coming off the speakers when some of the drums kicked in.

Mastodon did that to me... could feel it shaking my chest.

Got Y NOT this weekend. Booked a few gigs coming up too. Marmozets. Royal Blood sometime too.

Took my daughter to Manic Street Preachers in June at Bristol. Never got into them myself but like a few of theirs and they were very good live. Taking her to Wolf Alice again in November and also managed to get tickets for one of their intimate gigs at tavistock wharf in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to that.

I remarked to the Mrs that the whole band seemed tight. I enjoyed the riffs and didn't notice any fluffed notes. All said very good. Why..?
