If I had to throw all my music collection away bar one track, I would keep

Gary Moore - Cold Wind Blows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY23_pfQ91I

Tubeway army, are "friends" electric?. Revolutionary track way back in 1979, still gets to me today, such a distopian, futuristic sound.

I was going to nominate this, still awesome in its original form, still awesome live, even though more "industrial" in keeping with GN's current sound (save for last year's Nostalgia Tour).

But, but....there is one song, one intro, that "possibly" edges it for me and that is The Patti Smith Group with Because The Night, which for me, has it all.

Pink Floyd "Echoes", especially if it was Dave Gilmore's "Live in Gdansk" version.

Nope, I can't do this.

How can I choose between - say - The Thomas Tallis Fantasia at Gloucester Cathedral played by the BBC Symphony, and Shine On..... by Floyd? Or - say - Superunknown by Soundgarden and Chopin's Nocture No.1 (preferably played by Maria Joao Pires)?

Impossible.

Good call, but if it was one Rammstein track, for me, it would have to be Du Hast.

One track is too few, so I propose a selection. Any good sales person can negotiate on terms first presented to them! wink

Eric Clapton, Layla.
Guns And Roses, Mr Brownstone.
Dire Straights, Money For Nothing.
Prodigy, Poison.

I'm struggling to narrow it down past these four TBH.

Dylan's I Shall Be Released sung by Joe Cocker on his first album. As close to perfection as you are likely to get.

Pink Floyd - Fat Old Sun, BBC John Peel 1971

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttPNilF3v5A

The Floyd played for the show in 1970 and the song was half as long. They came back in 71 and doubled the length of the song with a long instrumental part in the middle.

I think the 70 and 71 shows are some of the best sounds they have ever recorded.

Du Hast is good, but this is just perfect
