Iron Maiden! Belfast on Thursday, can't wait!!
You, my friend, are in for a treat. Saw Maiden on Tuesday night in Newcastle, and they were effing awesome!! Two hours of high energy rock, brilliantly executed and with crazy theatrics. We had a 90% scale model Spitfire (Aces High), a ten foot high Eddie duelling with Bruce (The Trooper), even flamethrowers in Bruce's hands (Flight Of Icarus, I think). Add in thunderous classics like Two Minutes To Midnight, Run To The Hills and Hallowed Be Thy Name and this was Maiden on top form - they've never been better. They also did some unusual songs - The Clansman and Sign Of The Cross for example. The audience went mental all night, it was an evening I'll never forget.
Tell you what, Iron Maiden make me proud to be British; there, I've said it.

I'm not one for watching the concert through a phone (why do people do this?), but I took a couple of quickly snatched photos, apologies for the poor quality of the phone cam:
SSE Odyssey Arena was good too - a good size to give a balance between being able to actually see the stage and getting an atmosphere that numbers gives. Although Killswitch Engage weren't really my cuppa, they were very good I thought and their cover of Holy Diver totally nailed it!

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for posting the photos! Yes, they definitely still have got it, you're right. I'd forgotten about Revelations; what a fantastic song - great band, great audience, immense show and absolutely the best value for money you can get!
Not long back from the o2 tonight and what an amazing gig. Absolutely love them and Revelations was a real highlight of the set. Brilliant band!!dsmith1990 said:

Saw them in Newcastle last week and they were amazing! They just don’t slow down. Have seen them in 2016 (Milan) and 2017 (Glasgow) recently as well. Always have so much energy and bring a massive amount of humour and ‘likeability’ with them as well. I’m such a Bruce fan girl Well last night was Thunderpussy, supported by the Hot Soles at the Black Heart in Camden.
The Hot Soles
A two piece from Sheffield who play "aggressive soul" which I think covers it quite well Proper bluesy vibe and a pair of showmen they're bloody brilliant. Had a chat with them and they're hoping to bring an EP out in a few months. Saw them support The Last Internationale earlier in the year. Brilliant.

Thunderpussy
Promoted somewhat by Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, this Seattle quartet are quite honestly, brilliant. Serious musicians (certainly more than the name would ever suggest!) so check out theit debut album. Still can't quite believe how hard and clean Ruby hits the drums, yet manages to get texture in there too.
Brilliant gig for the princely sum of £8.
Change of pace next... Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets in September.

Got my Nick Mason ticket and digging out my old flares and floral shirt this weekend. I’m really looking forward to the show.
But for musical perfection to move your soul then you won’t do better than Camel. I saw them in July and the sound and performance was beyond what I can describe. Seeing them again next month in Birmingham and I’m rather ecstatic about that.
